We're honoured to have been jointly named Employer of the Year at the Mariposa Awards, recognising individuals and organisations who have supported others through baby and child loss 💚 Partners from our Pregnancy and Child Loss Support Community accepted the award at the ceremony in London on Saturday. Pictured below, Kishan Jogia, Jennifer Rougier-Lagane, Laura Bucknall (was McAuley) and Ellen Newman. The award recognises the work we do as an employer, and through the Pregnancy and Child Loss Community, to support Partners who have experienced baby or child loss. One way we do this is through our Partnership's specialised baby loss leave policy, which means we provide an extended two working weeks' paid leave for all parents who've lost a child under the age of 18, or experienced pregnancy loss 🤍 Kishan said: “Winning the award highlights the Partnership’s dedication to supporting Partners through pregnancy and baby loss with compassion, strong policies, and a culture of empathy. Being recognised for creating a supportive space during such a difficult journey means the world to us. While raising awareness and having tough conversations won’t bring back the babies we’ve lost, it can help ensure our Partners feel supported.” Congratulations to all involved, and also to our joint winner Hastings Direct 🏆

Our Full Year results are in, and they show our transformation plan is working, with profits tripling to £126 million. This growth is enabling us to put £114m into Partner pay and up to £600m into our transformation. Huge thanks to our loyal customers in Waitrose & Partners and John Lewis & Partners for responding positively to the investment we’re making in quality, value, and service. And sincere gratitude to our Partners who are working hard to make this transformation happen. We've come a long way, but there’s still more to do, and lots to look forward to. Happy International Women’s Day! 💚 Today we are celebrating some of our wonderful Partners across the business, who are taking part in our Partnership’s Gender Equality Network’s new campaign, You Know You Can. The campaign aims to empower women by showcasing internal leadership role models who have supported others in their careers and demonstrate brilliant allyship. Meet Shadi, Customer Assistant in John Lewis who runs all-female mountain expeditions to help women reach their potential. “This International Women’s Day, I want to share one piece of advice. Push your boundaries. You are capable of more than you think. Say yes first, then figure out how to make it happen. Too often, women hold themselves back, waiting to feel ready before stepping forward. But the truth is, real magic happens at the edge of your comfort zone. So take the risk. Say yes. And see where it takes you.” 🌟 Meet Ellie, Head of Branch at a John Lewis shop who says, “The Partnership's leadership has shifted from being male-dominated when I joined nearly three decades ago, to a more diverse environment, which is great. One leader, in particular, significantly impacted my career and I wouldn't be where I am without their encouragement.” Meet Amber, who started in Waitrose Ely and is now in the Health & Wellbeing team. “It means a lot when women are willing to give up their time and champion others, while trying to succeed and overcome their own barriers too.” #InternationalWomensDay

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 🙌 In celebration of International Women’s Day, we spoke with Partner and Product Engineer, Jo on her Partner journey and the female influence she has had throughout her career: “I started 14 years ago, straight out of University, as a Technology Graduate, taking on the role of a Trainee Analyst. After a few years I secured a Level 7 position as a Junior Analyst and then a few years later was successful in my application for a Partnership Level 6 role. Today I am a Senior Lead Analyst, responsible for the analysis on large and complex transformational change projects.” “When I think back through my career with JLP I have had so many incredible female influences. Whether that's leaders, my People Managers or the Partners who I've worked with in my project teams. My first ever team was predominantly female and they were all incredibly strong and influential females at that. I've always had a sense of being surrounded by people who have my best interests at heart.” “As well as progressing through my career, I have hit some major life changes too (marriage, dogs, children). All of this adds a different dimension and I've always felt JLP has supported me through it. Following the birth of my first daughter, I was able to return to work four days a week, after a year or so when I realised that wasn't suiting me, I was able to move back up to full time. More recently (and another daughter later), when my eldest started school I was able to amend my working hours to suit the school times whilst continuing to work full time. “Being able to be at the school gates collecting my daughters most days each week is something I will never take for granted. Throughout all of the changes, I've had nothing but encouragement and support from everyone around me.” Happy International Women’s Day 👩💼 #InternationalWomensDay #DrivenByPurpose #TheJohnLewisPartnership

This is demonstrated through our democratic structure. 📖 As a business, we invest into up-skilling our Partners through providing learning and development opportunities. Partner and author, World Book Day📖🙌 In the run up to World Book Day, we spoke with Waitrose Abingdon Supermarket Assistant Rob on his work as a published children’s book author: “I’ve always loved being creative, so once I finished school, I did an art and design course at college and then studied illustration at university. It was during this time, I started making my own books, which eventually led to getting published.” “I’ve been lucky enough to have three of my own books published so far—Where’s Brian’s Bottom?, Who’s Tickling Tilly?, and Where’s Willy’s Welly? I’ve also illustrated six other books for a series by a different author.” “I usually spend World Book Day doing school visits, which are always a lot of fun. I like to do drawing workshops with the kids, where we come up with characters together.” When asked what could be next in Rob’s career, he answered: “I’ve wanted to make a detective series for a long time now, and it might finally be happening. I’m hoping to find out very soon!” #WorldBookDay #TheJohnLewisPartnership #WorkLifeBalance
