Design South East is the region’s leading source of built environment design support for local authorities, the development sector and communities. We support policy development and plan making, neighbourhood plans and public buildings, housing and public space projects by offering a clear, constructive and consistent voice on design issues. A not-for-profit organisation; we are impartial and work in the public interest to help create a better built environment for everyone. Formerly called the Kent Architecture Centre, our new name reflects increasing demand for our services across the South of England.

Everyone deserves good design. At Design South East, we believe it is fundamental to quality of life – and to the development of healthy, resilient and sustainable communities. As a not-for-profit organisation, we work entirely in the public interest, working with our panel experts to help shape better places. To help further this mission, we are seeking to appoint new trustees to our board, including a new Chair, in 2025. If you share this passion for community and the environment, and believe you can help grow our influence and deepen our impact, then we want to hear from you.
