Yesterday we shared some of our latest data as part of Greenplaces #NYClimateWeek law firm workshop In the last 12 months, we've seen a positive increase in the proportion of US headquartered firms: 🌎Measuring scope 1,2 and 3 emissions 🌎Setting public scope 1 & 2 reduction targets 🌎 Implementing foundational measures to reduce measures  But there is another huge gap for firms to work on... engaging their people with this work and helping them to feel involved in the firm's efforts to address climate change (as shown by the our Leading Teams talent data) Lots more insights into this coming in our second Annual Report next month

Our Second Annual Report is out in 2 weeks time! 2️⃣ 🎉 An early finding to share… Levels of responsible business reporting by law firms increased significantly in the last year 60% of the 215 firms we analysed this year had published some kind of responsible business report In 2023, this figure was 38% This has been a key driver in the performance we see across firms - impacting which firms have risen in our analysis as well as those that have been overtaken We will be revealing the names of the leading firms in our next Annual Report – sign up using the link below to get your copy

Our vision has always been to collaborate across the industry and continually evolve the framework we use to evaluate firms. In the last 12 months, we have done this by closely consulting with law firms in our Lamp House Members’ community. Through interactive workshops at our inaugural members’ event, we debated a whole range of initiatives and interventions currently adopted by firms to get the responsible business practitioners’ view on which are more challenging to implement and which have the biggest impact. We used the insights from this session, and our wider conversations with members, to refine and consolidate our framework for 2024. This now scores firms on 180+ activities and looks at: 📏 Measures and targets – whether firms are collecting robust data to inform their strategies, as well as creating accountability through setting targets 📒 Reporting – whether firms are being transparent about performance and progress ⛏ Practical action – whether firms have substantive, meaningful initiatives in place to create change Which firms have performed strongest on our analysis framework? A hugely insightful day at Legal Wellbeing conference yesterday (with thanks to Inside Practice LLC and Clyde & Co) We shared some data from our talent benchmark… including that half the market feel a long-term career in their law firm is not compatible with how they want to live their life (Source: Leading Teams survey with 6,800 people across 102 firms) A key takeaway was that the experience can be vastly different across firms – and even groups within firms - which means its critical for firms to understand your peoples' expectations and unique drivers Great discussions and panelists...more wellbeing insights coming in our annual report next month!
