As anticipated some positives from Labour’s first budget in 14 years around housing delivery, including: - An additional £500m for affordable housing into the current Affordable Housing Programme - A five year rent settlement for social housing providers at Consumer Price Index (CPI) plus 1% - Right to Buy discounts reduced and all of the receipts from future Right to Buy sales being kept with the selling councils. - £233m worth of funding announced to help prevent homelessness. Lets explore how this will be delivered. - £50m to help planning departments recruit 300 new planners. - Another £1bn of funding to help remove dangerous cladding over the forthcoming year.
