📢 We are thrilled to announce that our incredible team of runners successfully completed and exceeded their fundraising target for the AJ Bell Great North Run 2024. Aiming to raise crucial funds for Mesothelioma UK their goal was £2,500, and thanks to everyone who donated and supported us along the way, we’ve gone beyond that! 👟 The Great North Run, known as the world’s largest half-marathon, took place on Sunday, and our team proudly joined over 60,000 participants on the 13.1-mile route from Newcastle to South Shields. 🏅 A huge thank you to our amazing team for their effort. The funds raised will help the charity continue their vital work in providing care, advocacy, and research for those affected by mesothelioma. 💚 Last week, our Manchester team took part in an inspiring volunteer day organised by Graduate, Tess Webb-Jones. Collaborating with Sow the City and Ladybarn Community Hub, our volunteers worked together to build a community pond that will enhance biodiversity and support sustainable urban drainage in the area. 💪 It was a fantastic team effort from Tess, Mia Tobin, Toby Bass, Isaac McKenna, Daniel Speight, and Rebecca Chanter as they dug out the pond and prepared it for the next stages of development. In addition, the team also re-used pallets to build a three-section compost structure, which will help the community garden manage compost more effectively. 🏅 Lucion Olympic Torch Challenge – Moving More for our Mental Health! 🏅 Back in May, we kicked off Mental Health Awareness Week with an internal initiative, inspired by the theme of Moving More for our Mental Health. To get everyone motivated, we launched the Olympic Torch Challenge - a virtual relay from our Aberdeen office to the Paris Olympics, connecting all our Lucion offices along the 2,390 km route. 👟 Over 13 weeks, 100+ participants logged more than 3,000 activities, moving us along our journey! We had activities logged from Belgium to Japan, and many team members hit personal bests along the way 🌍 We eventually made it to Paris on the penultimate day of the challenge, travelling 2449 km in total. Big thanks to our GIS Lead, Ben Blowers for using his GIS wizardry to calculate the route and to our ESG Manager, Emily Spencer for doing all the weekly calculations so we could do our map updates. For some healthy competition, we also released weekly leaderboards, with our Manchester office taking home the Gold! 🥇 We loved seeing the different activities taking place over the last 13 weeks and we hope everyone continues to find those ‘moments for movement’ even after the challenge 💪 #MentalHealth #MomentsForMovement #Lucion #Olympics
