The skills shortage in construction has been a challenge for decades, and it’s not going away anytime soon. Finding the right people has been one of our biggest hurdles, but instead of waiting for a solution, we decided to invest in our future. From day one, we’ve committed to developing young talent through apprenticeships. Right now, a third of our team are apprentices, gaining real industry experience while earning their qualifications. It’s not a quick fix, but it’s a long-term, sustainable way to grow our industry and invest in the future of engineering. Read more about why this matters to us: https://lnkd.in/e_xntziK

Meet Max Robson, Senior Technician here at Lynas Engineers. Like 60% of our workforce, Max’s journey with Lynas Engineers began as an apprentice, now playing a key role as a Senior Technician, specialising in highways and drainage design. Since completing his apprenticeship with Hartlepool College of Further Education, he has worked closely with senior team members. Max is constantly expanding his expertise and getting stuck into real-world engineering challenges. Investing in apprenticeships is a key part of our commitment to the future of engineering. By supporting talented individuals like Max, we’re ensuring that expertise is passed down, innovation thrives, and the highest standards of engineering excellence are upheld.

We believe that successful projects begin with thoughtful planning. The planning stage is where we lay the foundation for everything that follows—taking the time to fully understand the challenge, gather the necessary data, and explore all possible solutions. It’s here that we ensure every decision is based on a solid understanding of the project’s needs and goals. By investing time in comprehensive planning, we can design solutions that are not only effective but sustainable, addressing both immediate challenges and long-term objectives. This meticulous approach allows us to anticipate potential issues before they arise, ultimately leading to smoother project execution and better outcomes. Our commitment to thoughtful planning is what enables us to consistently deliver results that make a meaningful impact. Ready to see how our approach can make a difference to your next project?
