The whole team got involved at our Charity project today. The whole office got their work clothes on to get involved in the painting works. Progress is really good with the counselling rooms and the glazing works almost complete. It has been really fulfilling working with such a great cause. We must put out a massive thank you to all of our supply chain partners who are donating their time and resources to assist us with our efforts. It has been a pleasure to work with Kier towards the successful conclusion of Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
Working in a live healthcare environment! 🏥 We’re partnering with Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to deliver new clinical buildings at Luton & Dunstable University Hospital. Our goal is to provide staff and patients with better healthcare facilities that will change their lives for the better. Once complete, the £150m clinical buildings project will provide modern and enhanced facilities for maternity, neonatology, critical care, and theatre services. For maternity services, there will be increased theatre capacity to help support those with high-risk pregnancies, as well as a dedicated and standalone bereavement suite. As a facility offering Level 3 neonatal intensive care services, there will be additional cots to care for the sickest and most premature babies, alongside rooming in facilities to allow families additional support before going home. Critical care facilities will allow for more beds to accommodate patients requiring increased level of care. Eight new operating theatres are being created to provide additional capacity and allow re-purposing of older theatres. The building will also feature two hybrid theatres, capable of delivering interventional and specialist services all in one place. We have achieved over one million hours of work on site at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. To celebrate we sat down with some end users to find out what this project means to them. This week we have commenced an 8 week programme of works for St Peter’s Youth & Community Hub. The Hub is just around the corner from our West Molesey office. We will be forming a suite of new Counselling Rooms, Acoustic works and Moving wall in the activity hall, a new commercial kitchen fit out, glazed walls and doors to the cafe and alterations works to the TV room. We are really proud to be collaborating with Reverend Alex and all of his team. It’s good to be able to give some Social Value back to our local community and for such a great cause.

Our London team have officially started on site at 40 Broadway, working on an exciting development that will deliver Grade A office space, including a ground floor café and terraces on most floors, creating a high-quality, wellbeing-focused building right in the heart of Westminster. So far, they've completed welding for the lift core on levels one to four and have started installing the steel frame up to level 4. In the next month, they'll finish phase one of the steel frame, which involves erecting the steel frame from the ground floor to the fourth floor, halfway through the site. They will then kick off phase two, continuing the steel frame erection from the ground floor to the fourth floor from the halfway point to the other end of the site. By the end of the month, the team will set up basement welfare facilities, begin removing the cabins, and start installing metal decking, shear studding, and scaffolding. 🌿 Exciting News from The Heath Community Hub in Dagenham! 🌿 Curo’s Social Value and Biodiversity Enhancement Project 2024 has transformed the hub into an accessible, sustainable, and biodiverse haven. We collaborated with the Heath Hub and Independent Living Agency to create an inclusive garden with enhanced grow spaces and revamped areas. Key achievements: ♿ New wheelchair-accessible path, allowing people with accessibility requirements to participate in the gardening club for the first time 🌱 18m³ of grow space with freshly planted fruits, vegetables, and herbs, supplementing the local food bank and supper club for the elderly and isolated 🌼 New relaxation garden and bug hotel enhancing biodiversity 🏡 Re-roofed pergola to maximise the garden's usability throughout the year 🤝 320 volunteer hours contributed Additional enhancements include repainting planters, ramp handrails and the wooden bandstand, extending their use. A new screen was installed to provide privacy between the hub and the neighbouring nursery. Biodiversity was significantly boosted with the addition of 22 new plant species, aligning with Dagenham’s biodiversity action plan.
