We’re thrilled that Macs Adventure has featured in AARP's latest article on the growing trend of self-guided travel 📈 Our CEO, Neil Lapping, highlights how more American travelers are choosing this independent style of adventure: “Travelers are increasingly searching for authentic and immersive experiences, where they have the freedom and confidence to go on their own adventure, at their own pace, without a group or guide slowing them down, hurrying them along and dictating what they can or can’t do." We are proud to be leading the way in this active travel movement. Leave No Trace specializes in educating the public about the best solutions for the protection of the natural world, and we're so grateful to have attended this year's Leave No Trace Global Summit. 🌍 The lineup of speakers was nothing short of inspiring, and it was a pleasure connecting with fellow advocates and our valued partners at Leave No Trace. A huge thank you to Aria for representing Macs Adventure and for your dedication to advocating for responsible, eco-friendly adventures. 👏 Learn more about our partnership with Leave No Trace: https://lnkd.in/eSquMvEh #LeaveNoTrace #SustainableTravel #MacsAdventure #EcoFriendlyTravel #ResponsibleTourism
I loved being a part of the Leave No Trace Global Summit this week representing Macs Adventure. Listening to folks who are such big stewards of our planet tell their stories was so impactful. I am constantly impressed with Leave No Trace, and thoroughly enjoy having a hand in Macs partnership with them. Leave No Trace did an amazing job putting on this summit, and it is so important to continue to open conversations regarding educating and protecting the nature we all love to recreate in. - “People will value our wild places because they have experience of those wild places” David Secunda

We've recently spoken about some of our community efforts from last year. This year, we're committed to making an even bigger impact through volunteering, advocacy, and wellness initiatives. Here's what we've been focusing on: 🎯 Path Stewardship: Increase contributions to path maintenance by 50%, ensure 70% of colleagues complete the Leave No Trace course, and educate both customers and staff on responsible trail use. 🎯 Volunteering & Advocacy: Reach 30% employee participation in global volunteering days. 🎯 Fundraising: Raise 15% through staff fundraising. 🎯 Supply Chain: Implement supplier agreements with our new Code of Conduct. 🎯 Health & Wellbeing: Advocate for and financially support initiatives that promote walking for mental and physical wellness. #Community #Volunteering #2024Goals #MacsAdventure

Community Impact - Our 2023 Achievements! 🤝 Last week, we highlighted our volunteering efforts on the West Highland Way, but that’s just part of our commitment to the community. Here's a look at what else we accomplished in 2023: • Partnered with Leave No Trace and UK trail associations for conservation efforts. • Donated £21.5K to path restoration. • Backed our colleagues' fundraising in events like the Great Scottish Run, London Marathon, and even a cage fight! • Our team walked 100 miles for PAWS-GIST, and our CGO swam the Bantham Swoosh for children with disabilities. • Appointed a Sustainability Lead and created a Supplier Code of Conduct. • Sponsored Country Walking Magazine’s annual Walk 1000 Miles Campaign, promoting the mental and physical health benefits of walking. We’re incredibly proud of our team for their dedication to supporting environmental conservation, health, and community initiatives! 👏 #Community #HealthandWellbeing #Volunteering #Sustainability #Teamwork #MacsAdventure

As the fall season begins, we've been reminiscing on last year’s volunteer work along the West Highland Way. 🍂 23 of our amazing team members spent two days restoring and maintaining the trails of one of our most popular routes, the West Highland Way. Preserving trails is just as important to our colleagues as it is to our customers. Gathering volunteers was easy, and everyone was more than willing to roll up their sleeves for the environment and for a path that means so much to us as a company. Check out what some of our volunteers had to say: 🗨 "It was eye opening and made me feel more connected to what we do on a physical level. I got to meet the people who keep these projects ongoing and heard about the challenges and joys they face in the role and within that environment." - Robert, Sales Support 🗨 "I was a little apprehensive that I wouldn’t have the skills to complete the task however we were briefed on what was involved and there was no pressure to complete this in a certain way/timeframe. Everyone worked together which was nice." - Fran, Adventure Operations Specialist 🗨 "I would do it again in a heartbeat! We shouldn’t be done with the WHW – it requires constant maintenance, there’s always something to do. And it would be really rewarding to take the same attitude towards other paths we know and love at Macs." - Aaron, Adventure Operations Specialist Keep an eye out for the volunteer activities we’ll be involved in this year! #WestHighlandWay #TrailPreservation #Volunteering #Teamwork #Sustainability

The Macs Adventure Sales Team is raising money for Paths for All! To celebrate Macs Adventure’s 21st anniversary, our amazing team is volunteering their time to walk either 21 kilometres or 21 miles. Every penny raised will be donated to Paths for All, an organization dedicated to creating inclusive opportunities for everyone to walk and wheel. They connect communities, promote healthier and happier lifestyles, and work to reduce some of Scotland’s biggest health inequalities, easing the pressure on the NHS. Macs Adventure will match all donations received, ensuring that all proceeds go toward fostering a greener and more inclusive walking culture in Scotland. 🤝💰 Now, let's meet the walkers from our Sales team: 🚶 First up is our fearless Sales leader, Amy Gibbs, who will be walking with her family and our London-based colleagues near Horton in Surrey. 🚶 Next, the wonderful Sarah Miller, a valued member of the Macs Adventure family for nearly two years, will tackle the Great Glen Way from Invermoriston to Drumnadrochit. 🚶 Our Wales expert, Aled Rice, fresh off the trails of the Tour du Mont Blanc, will embark on a 21-kilometer walk near his home in North Wales with his lovely dogs, Nia and Penny. 🚶 Joining the lineup is the cheeky Eleanor Garnham from Sales Support, who will walk the West Highland Way from Bridge of Orchy to the stunning Kingshouse Hotel with our Glasgow office team. 🚶 Alongside Eleanor is Nash Koster, our 'Camino Queen,' walking 21 kilometers with the Glasgow crew as part of her training for her next adventure in La Gomera. Go Nash! 🚶 After her recent walk across the Isle of Skye, Sophie Young will team up with Eleanor and Nash to conquer the West Highland Way from Bridge of Orchy to Kingshouse. 🚶 Lastly, our alpine expert, Michel Moergeli, will rise to the challenge of walking 21 miles along Scotland’s East Coast.
