For this week’s #FridayFundraiser we’re celebrating the incredible fundraising achievements of Margo Cornish, who has raised more than £1m for Maggie’s through her Maggie’s on the Runway fashion show. Since the first Maggie’s on the Runway in 2016, the show has become a biannual event, with the models often being people who come to us for support. One model described it as feeling like “she had got her sparkle back” after not feeling like herself through her treatment. Margo tells us more: “Raising money to help keep Maggie’s doors open is the primary driver but Maggie’s on the Runway is also about the ‘three F’s’ - fashion, fun and friendship. “I am proud to have been able to bring people together and create new support networks at such a challenging time in their lives. I would like to thank everyone who has been part of this journey so far and I’m excited about what the next chapter will bring.” Thank you Margo for your amazing continued support for people living with cancer and those who love them.

60% of people don’t know that cancer treatment could cause an early treatment-induced crash menopause. That's why, in the lead-up to #WorldMenopauseDay, we're keeping the conversation going so that more women, and their friends and family, can be aware of the symptoms and access the support and treatment they’re entitled to. We hear in our centres just how sudden and debilitating side effects like hot flushes and brain fog can be whilst managing things like work, being a parent and relationships. Help us keep the conversation going about crash menopause by sharing this video. If you’re about to start treatment and have concerns or if you need support with managing the side effects of crash menopause, just come in to your nearest Maggie's and our friendly experts can talk you through what support is right for you. To learn more about menopause and cancer, visit our website: https://lnkd.in/eN9VwTqa Thank you to everyone who took part in our video for helping us to keep the conversation going about crash menopause. Walk for Maggie’s – Friday 28th June. Signup today for a brand-new twilight walk through Manchester 🌇 There are just six weeks to go until our first ever Walk for Maggie’s takes place. Take on the challenge of a 5 mile or 10 mile walk while raising vital funds for people living with cancer and their families 🧡 Hear from Richard who explains how Maggie’s supported him and why he is taking part 👇 "I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2022 and had a whipple procedure to remove the tumour. After a period of recovery from the operation I was referred to Maggie’s. “I was welcomed at Maggie’s by a very caring and professional team who listened to my concerns and helped me deal with my diagnosis. “I wanted to help raise funds for Maggie’s so I took part in a 10k sponsored walk in September 2023. This was a personal challenge for me as in April 2023 I could only walk 50 metres. With the support of family and friends, I completed the walk which gave me a huge sense of achievement and great satisfaction that I was able to do my little bit to help Maggie’s continue their fantastic work. “I am delighted to be taking part in this year's sponsored walk to help Maggie’s as they continue to support me in my cancer journey." It isn’t long to go until our Walk for Maggie’s fundraising event takes place on Friday 28th June. We’ll be taking in the sights of Manchester whilst raising vital funds together for people living with cancer and their families 🧡 Hear from Mary who is taking part this year in memory of her daughter who received support from Maggie’s after being diagnosed with bowel cancer 👇 “We have signed up to do the walk this year for a number of reasons, foremost as a way of giving something back to an amazing charity who continue to support me, my family, and friends whilst we try to navigate our way through life now that Rachel is no longer with us. “We have been humbled by the generosity of all who helped us fundraise for a cause so close to our hearts, particularly as we know that times are hard for people and just how much Maggie’s appreciate every penny raised.” Visit the link to sign up: https://lnkd.in/gkKmdf8H
