Finding the Needle in the Haystack... If you're hiring in competitive markets like Data & AI and relying solely on job ads or LinkedIn advertising, you're leaving a vast pool of untapped talent on the table. While it is true that there’s more talent available in today’s market, and companies are receiving a high number of applications, it is also true that the quality has not increased. This has resulted in companies spending more time screening hundreds of applications, often with little return. As an example, I recently spoke with a client who had screened over 200+ applications in less than a month for a leadership role in Data. From that, only four candidates were invited to an interview. This was due to several reasons such as: most applicants were outside the required city and unwilling to relocate, lacked leadership experience, didn’t speak German, or missed key technical skills.
