Another busy week here at Marketing Lancashire 🌹 Partnerships Manager Ian Stackhouse has visited the Eagle and Child in Bispham Green where he was able to catch up with the team and discuss how they can make the most of their partnership. Ian also spent time in Blackpool this week for the Pleasure Beach Resort season launch, and it was a good one, there’s plenty on the cards at the resort this year, and a new ride announced for 2026 too! PR and Content Executive Raimy Greenland also nipped into Lancaster Castle to see it in full splendor now the courtyard is once again scaffolding-free and to meet Jacqueline Wallace of Jacqueline’s Chocolates, an artisan chocolate maker with a workshop within the Castle Courtyard! What’s more, the sun really delivered for Lancashire this #englishtourismweek25 ☀️

We had the absolute pleasure of joining West Lancashire Borough Council on a their Rural Business Grant Tour yesterday. The council, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, awarded £280,000 to rural businesses funding through the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) in 2023, helping them to diversify, grow and explore new economic opportunities. This tour was a great opportunity to see and hear first hand what that funding has resulted in for Stone Hall Farm Glamping, The Secret Garden Glamping, The Retreat in Wrightington, THE SHIP@LATHOM LTD, WINDMILL ANIMAL FARM LIMITED and Ralph Wife's Coffee and Bar. We value the time we get with partners to discuss their business' achievements, goals and to help them through any struggles they may encounter. The Visitor Economy in Lancashire is worth a whopping £5.4bn to the economy, attracts 66.7 Million visitors a year and employs 57k people, so it's only fitting that we celebrate it for an entire week for #EnglishTourismWeek25. These vibrant businesses are the lifeblood of our county, supporting our thriving communities, making Lancashire an attractive place to live, work, visit, study and invest in, and the people who man those businesses work so hard to provide incredible experiences for their guests and keep people coming back to Lancashire.  Times are tough, and these businesses need every penny they can to survive, so whilst they might not all be open this time of year, plan in some visits to enjoy what we have here is Lancashire. The Red Rose Awards took place last night, highighting a number of fantastic businesses and individuals from across the county 🌹 Huge congratulations to all of the winners, especially Visit Lancashire partners Anderton Centre for winning the Not For Profit Award and to Brickhouse Farm Holiday Cottages Ltd for winning the Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Award!
