It may look like we've been laser-focused on utilities and highways projects lately- with the events we've been attending & the webinars we've hosted... But sustainability & environment is still in our DNA! Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you. 💚 With the recent UKHab update, and regulation change to make Biodiversity Net Gain mandatory, there's never too little to talk about. Julia has written up a post talking all about how environmental GIS data capture can transform how you approach the latest guidelines. Read it here! https://lnkd.in/eZWbVXyK

Strike avoidance is the hot topic this year at Highways UK. 🚫 We've had a really positive response from National Highways regarding the AR vGIS Inc. situational awareness solution. If there's one thing you don't want to miss at this event it's how this really simple technology can massively improve safety and reduce service strikes!! Come catch us on STAND 51 while you can! 👋 (and meet the famous Darius Mirdamadi)
Award-winning Journalist, Vlogger, Podcaster, Live Show / Event Host, Content Creator & PR / Communications Specialist, owner of Contentforindustry.com, correspondent for Earthmovers and other industry magazines
Bringing a tunnel into Highways UK as I test out the vGIS Inc. augmented reality app on the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon stand 207 with technology specialist Darius Mirdamadi from MGISS. The vGIS app works with the FLX100 and GGO4 GNSS antennas from Leica Geosystems to achieve high levels of accuracy. And the great thing about the app is that it takes survey data and visualises it very simply for any user to take advantage of. So take a look at the tunnel and other utilities surveyed at the Leica Geosystems School in Shropshire and brought into the NEC. It's pretty cool stuff. #surveying #surveydata #surveyapp #highwaysuk #innovation #construction #infrastructure #visualisation

National Highways recently annouced the transition from HADDMS to GDMS (Geotechnical & Drainage Management Service). 🛣 The new specification will officially apply from the 18th October 2024, and we at MGISS are seeking all the relevant clarifications to ensure our 'DDMS for Highways' solution can be adapted to support GDMS. We are on-hand to support you through this transition. 🤝 In the meantime... MGISS will be exhibiting at Highways UK on Stand 51 in a week's time (16-17th October) where we'll be able to answer any questions you may have about the upcoming transition. You can get your FREE ticket here: https://lnkd.in/dgaPyPw

MGISS reposted this
Now you see it, now you don't -- a reality capture scan overlaid in construction-grade AR over the open trench is almost indistinguishable from the scanned trench. The second part of the video shows the process of collecting reality capture scans with a 3m-long selfie stick. Just scan and review the results within seconds. The scanning component is part of the vSite productivity platform that streamlines trenching, locates and utility projects with digital twin, AR, AI and automated workflows. #realitycapture #ar #vsite
