Can our climate be saved by vacuuming carbon out of the skies? We think so. Our CEO Nicholas Chadwick sat down with Engadget’s Daniel Cooper to discuss the role of direct air capture in tackling the billions of tonnes of atmospheric carbon that we simply have to remove to avert climate crisis. Click below to find out why it’s ‘a no-brainer for industries that are reliant on CO₂ to start buying from Mission Zero’. ⬇️ #ClimateTech #Sustainability #CarbonRemoval

Direct air capture is a powerful tool for mitigating the climate impacts of flight. ✈️ A new study published by Zürich’s Institute for Environmental Decisions suggests that both carbon removal and utilisation through direct air capture could play a significant role in achieving climate-neutral aviation. Researchers at the Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) are already on the case — harnessing direct air capture technology to pioneer ultra low-carbon aviation fuel made from air. Take a closer look. ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e3EdrR4C Check out the study → https://lnkd.in/gw7dwRPP #SAF #DirectAirCapture #Aviation #NetZero

And for our next magic trick: creating building materials from thin air! 🪄 The CO₂ recovered by our DAC represents one of the world’s most sustainable carbon resources, and we are already connecting it to de-fossilise carbon-based industries. Our second DAC system in Norfolk represents a brand new market application of our technology — providing O.C.O. technology with a direct on-site supply of atmospheric carbon to produce carbon-negative building aggregates. 🧱 This builds on our two other DAC systems enabling jet fuel made from air and permanent underground removal. The operations and construction of buildings and infrastructure is the single largest contributor to global CO₂ emissions — generating around 40% of total emissions. How do we change that? ↓ The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC)’s latest report, Trends in Sustainable Solutions for the Built Environment, highlights how direct air capture is helping to bring this number down. Our second DAC plant in Norfolk sits alongside aggregate production facilities at O.C.O Technology Ltd’s site, demonstrating the permanent removal of atmospheric CO₂ into building materials for the first time in the UK. What sets direct air capture apart from carbon capture and storage (CCS)? DAC and CCS are often grouped together in discussions about climate technology, yet they are fundamentally different, in both their purpose and climate impact. We’ve broken down the common misconceptions around DAC vs CCS, outlining: - What each technology does - What makes them different - The distinct roles they play in helping to deliver the world’s climate goals Learn more → https://lnkd.in/emYTFxmc #ClimateTech #CarbonRemoval #Sustainability
