When it comes to full-fibre network deployment, logistical challenges are causing nightmares for residents that simply want: • A better broadband service • More choice of internet service providers Building and maintaining relationships with social housing associations is simply crucial to unlock full-fibre for rented accommodation. We need to access the right people in order to progress national build and bring UK residents into the future of broadband. But more often than not, finding the appropriate person to liaise with causes severe delays in our MDU deployment. This presents an excellent opportunity for a regulatory body to create a database of contacts for those that work in social housing associations and are the primary contact for wayleave agreements. This can help: 🏢 Bust the barriers that come with accessing multi-dwelling units 🎯 Alternative networks to open the dialogue with the correct contacts ✅ Provide residents with the choice they desperately crave in a world that is relying on digital connectivity. Prioritising the residents and tenants is an absolute must. They are the reason we are building our full-fibre network; to unleash human potential, regardless of living situation, lifestyle or location.

It was great to be part of the @ISPA UK roundtable on behalf of Netomnia along with @Dave Hook representing @Brsk yesterday discussing MDU engineering challenges as follows! 🏢 MDU's are diverse, ranging from high rise buildings, duplexes or multi-user properties combining business and residential customers.   Each MDU needs to be treated individually, with aesthetics, labour skill levels and accessibility all playing their roles. At Netomnia, we utilise existing PIA, but if ducts are blocked, the additional civils work can add to the costs and not make MDU's commercially viable.   🦺 Safety is paramount, with our stringent compliant controls . There is a need for easy access to accurate asbestos registers crucial for employee well-being during construction. There is a real tussle to obtain an up-to-date asbestos registry letting us know it's safe to proceed with deployment.   📝 Cladding issues are a common reason for landlords/managing agents to turn down our infrastructure upgrade. In more cases than not, we can work together to find a solution.   In order to achieve our goal of 3 million RFS premises by the end of 2025, it is vital that we maximise efficiency by busting these barriers for MDU connectivity during our programme. A huge education piece is required in order to inform landlords that this upgrade is a quick win at no cost to them. All we need are the requirements we ask for and we can get to work immediately! It's really encouraging to see us alternative networks banding together as one voice.
