Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay, and this year’s theme couldn’t be more relevant – mental health in the workplace. To celebrate this day, we created a wellness zone across all three Freedom Fibre Group offices, providing our employees with a space to relax and view various resources from Mind and R U OK?. But our commitment goes beyond cupcakes and brochures. At Freedom Fibre, we’re committed to building a culture of care with initiatives including: 🤝 Internal peer-support schemes 🤝 Flexible working that prioritises a work-life balance 🤝 Comprehensive EAP benefits, available to every team member Because mental health is something that should be focused on every day, not just today.

Connectivity for Everyone
About us
As a UK fibre network provider, we believe that high-speed broadband should be available for everyone. Our vision is to take fibre off the beaten track, providing fast, reliable connectivity with the best possible customer experience. So, we’re connecting homes and businesses in the cities and in the sticks – creating an affordable, optical fibre network which will last for generations. Our aim is for our people, our partners and our suppliers to work together with the common purpose; to make full fibre, high-speed broadband available to everyone, at a price that is affordable. We’re based in the North West of England and we’re dedicated to driving change across our local area and beyond. We partner with Internet Service Providers to optimise the UK’s fibre network. Together we deliver the best possible customer experience whilst driving down costs and improving the speed of roll-out. Our management team has extensive knowledge of the UK telecommunications industry. We’ve all got experience in rolling out high-speed fibre networks, both cost-effectively and at speed. With our knowledge and expertise, we innovate and challenge conventional thinking to deliver an inclusive, high-speed fibre infrastructure. Our team are all encouraged to speak out and contribute wherever they feel they have something to offer. We value energy, ideas and we show care and consideration for everyone and everything we touch in our work. Most of all, we enjoy what we do and we are dedicated to making a difference.

Freedom Fibre goes International! (well, our power banks have). Love this shot from Matthew Major showcasing one of our #ConnectedBritain giveaways amongst the big city lights of NYC 🍎
777 Recharge...I am reflecting on the impact positive people have on me, having just returned from a wonderful trip to the USA. I met Steve Johnson through my work at PXC. He invited me to join this year's Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) Festival. This group of visually impaired folk are an inspiration. We were hosted on a ranch and we got to drive full speed over the fields in Utility All Terrain buggies (even more exhilarating when your driver cannot see too well!), rode horses and went on a tour of Fossil Stone Farms vineyard. This group all run social media accounts and the private messages they receive behind the digital social scene reveal the positive impact they have on those with RP. Please check out The RP Show on Youtube. https://lnkd.in/d8B68TVe On the trip we covered 7000 miles by plane, 700 in automobiles and 70 by train. So that's the 777 now the recharge... Thanks to Stavros Karydis and Gemma Briggs I have the privilege of working with Freedom Fibre's Lee Sutch, Philip Bairsto, Angela Royle and Marie Danby. On my trip I was using their impressive power bank that I picked up at Terrapinn's Connected Britain event. Being a Teams background fan I grabbed a picture of it with Grand Central Station and the Ghostbusters building in the back ground. Me and Steve then headed to see the rather awesome Tomcat fighter of Top Gun fame that lives on the aircraft carrier housed Intrepid Museum. Great people. Thank you for your positivity. Exciting product launch post to follow soon🗽🥳Uzma Shaikh Joseph Heaney

Last week our Chief Risk Officer, Richard Byers attended EY's round table discussion with other influential Greater Manchester businesses to discuss regional growth and the challenges facing the local economy. In particular, Rick highlighted the challenge facing telecoms and infrastructure businesses, particularly with attracting and retaining talent, and how companies need to be a lot more dynamic to manage the changing landscape. Take a look at the article below between Fibre Provider and our Delivery Operations Director, Adele Cihlar to hear her thoughts on the state of the market and Freedom Fibre's place in the industry.
This morning's CEO appointment is the latest in a long line of announcements at Freedom Fibre, which is on a mission to become a top five altnet. To understand the altnet's plans for climbing the industry ranks, Fibre Provider caught up with Delivery Operations Director Adele Cihlar last week. She shared insight on M&A strategy (including how Freedom Fibre managed the VX merger), recent Project Gigabit wins and the state of wholesaling in the market.
