We've done it!!! We've just passed our goal on our Spacehive crowdfunding campaign thanks to the help of over 60+ backers! Our project will now be able to go ahead and that means an upgrade and expansion of our kit library so that we can accommodate more people to use industry standard film equipment in order to share their culture, experiences and stories. We currently do not have club video cameras that people can request to use or club computers that people can use to edit their film together, but we will very soon now thanks to this project! There's still a few hours left to donate as we're now in our over funding stage which means any more money raised will go to extra parts of this project. Learn more and donate with link in comments!

2 days to go for our Spacehive campaign! Will you help support more workshops like this? We only need £1088 more! We're posting a look at a previous workshop we ran with Caviar Studios which was all about lights. As you can see, our members get hands on experience with kit and if you donate to our crowdfunder today, you can help make more of these workshops happen!! Please share our project to your stories, to your personal pages, anywhere and everywhere please share and let people know why you're sharing. We're all about helping filmmakers in our region get access to the kit and hands on skills they need in order to make the things they want to make. The North East Combined Authority has pledged along with 40+ others to help get our project launched, will you join us? Donate with link now - https://lnkd.in/dKiSwCpv

We are FINALLY able to share the good news! We are now 88% of the way to our goal for our community filmmaking kit library! But how did we go from 11% to 88%?! Well, we were able to submit our project idea to the Crowdfund North of Tyne Fund* from North of Tyne Combined Authority They're working with Spacehive to help fund project groups that do at least one of the following: 😀 bring people together in new ways 🧠 support people’s wellbeing and mental health - especially outdoors 💡 inspire creativity and opportunity for all – including promoting lifelong learning We think we tick all of the boxes and they agreed! So they've pledged £9,958 to our project, which is 75% of our target!! Sending a big thank you to North of Tyne Combined Authority (which will soon be called North East Combined Authority). Now let's get our project to 100% - please check out our project and donate to help us get past the finish line! *Investment from the Crowdfund North of Tyne’s Main Fund is part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.

Last night NFC members Dennis Hewitt Rebecca Romeo Pitone and our Founder & President Samantha Castro attended the makers & shakers Awards in London! NFC was a finalist in the "Initiative to Grow Local Industry" category and although we didn't win, to have been nominated alongside the other amazing organisations from around the world was an honour. Special shout out to the other Newcastle finalist and Highly Recommended initiative The Church Post House We are incredibly grateful to every single member who has come through our club in the past year and to have the work we do be internationally recognised is a huge achievement. Thank you to North East Screen for first sharing about the Makers and Shakers award. And thanks to Lisa Laws for presenting the category award last night and catching up with us briefly! We are excited for what 2024 will look like for the region!! #filminnewcastle #newcastlefilmclub #filmmakers #northeastfilm #filmclub #makershakers23 #makershakersawards #localfilm #grassrootsfilmmaking
