Talking Technology, Innovation & Green Growth for Offshore Renewables (TIGGOR) programme success stories… and highlighting game changing innovations for the offshore wind sector… A diverse range of companies were at #OWNE24 this morning to share their experiences of TIGGOR’s support, in a session hosted by Dylan Hill, of Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. - Henna Bains of Kinewell Energy revealed how TIGGOR has helped the company accelerate technology development, scale up its groundbreaking KWOC inter-array cable layout optimisation software and develop new capabilities, stating that TIGGOR has been ‘instrumental’ in helping Kinewell Energy gain traction in the market. - Vahid Walker of Walker Subsea Engineering Ltd spoke about how, through TIGGOR, his company has been able to access essential technical support for the development of an underwater battery pack – D-Sea. Vahid also praised TIGGOR for helping Walker Subsea Engineering develop its workforce, through graduate recruitment and placements. - Jason Liu of Acuity Robotics Ltd explored the company’s remote operated Squirrel inspection robot – and explained TIGGOR’s role in helping the company accelerate its technology in the offshore wind sector. - Ian Armstrong highlighted how important TIGGOR has been in powering the growth of PULCEA LTD and the development of its sound attenuation solution for the offshore wind sector: he described how the programme has helped Pulcea benefit from testing facilities provided by the Offshore Wind Energy Catapult, engage with Osbit in the development of a tailored deployment sleeve and develop and verify its acoustic fluid, and he praised the support of organisations including Advance Northumberland , The North East Combined Authority, Equinor and EDF. - Andrew Ambrose-Thurman of SMD celebrated TIGGOR’s role in supporting the company in developing new technology, including autonomous systems. An exclusive premiere of the new Energi Coast film, Beyond The Horizon, aired this morning at Offshore Wind North East! Event delegates from across the offshore wind sector were able to watch our film – which showcases why North East England is a leading force in offshore wind – for the first time at the Beacon of Light Sunderland Our huge thanks go to Tony Quinn, Kim McGuinness, Mayor of the North East, David Brennan from Eastgate Engineering and Andrew Jenkins at Kinewell Energy for sharing their expertise and business insights with us for the film.
