As we pass the midway point in the 2024-2025 policy year, we’re pleased to announce that we’re continuing to build a solid foundation for adapting in the ever-changing environment in which we operate. Some of the key milestones we’ve achieved in the first half of this year include: • Expansion of our global geographical footprint by extending our offices in Tokyo, New York and Piraeus and opening a new office in Seoul. • Enhancing our digital product portfolio with the roll out of Get SET!, a portfolio of solutions that enhance risk management, including an ECDIS Training Assessment tool, an automated situational awareness platform, and a visual fleet management platform. • Launch of ‘next generation’ website giving access to personalise dashboards and a wide range of additional resources and tools. • Introduction of ‘Fuel Insights’, our new fuel analytics service with testing specialist VPS, as part of our evolving GlobeView portal. It covers the potential impact on shipping, details of the criteria that cargo must meet to be compliant, and some feedback from the EU Commission in response to our enquiries. In the news on Wednesday 04 September 2024: 1) Dunnage Disposal in Mexico Over the past months, it has become increasingly difficult to discharge dunnage in Mexico as the authorities have been reluctant to approve any exclusive discharge thereof. Read in full here 📑: https://lnkd.in/g2rjHARs 2) Disruptions to Dutch waterways The Juliana Canal in Limburg will be closed for several months for deepening and widening of the channel, which is expected to cause significant delays to inland shipping and impact the logistical operations of Dutch ports. Inland vessels will need to reroute via the Zeeland Kreekrak Locks, located in the Scheldt-Rhine Canal, one of Europe’s busiest shipping routes. With only one lock chamber currently available for passage, the closure of the Juliana Canal is likely to have a substantial effect.
