Marine biodiversity is an essential pillar for the resilience and sustainability of coastal cities. #BlueCarbon ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrass meadows, and tidal marshes support diverse marine species and protect against erosion, storm damage & sequester carbon. Healthy blue carbon ecosystems also provide sustainable tourism which contributes to local economies and well-being. Investing in preserving and restoring #BlueCarbon ecosystems around coastal cities is essential for maintaining biodiversity, mitigating climate risks, and building vibrant communities.
