Off the Record Bath and North East Somerset (OTR) improves the emotional health and wellbeing of young people. We want every young person in Bath and North East Somerset and beyond to be emotionally healthy, confident and empowered in themselves. We provide a range of services too young people including counselling, listening support, youth participation, advocacy and specialist groups, support for care leavers and a LGBT+ focused youth group.

So, we are on the search for our next Chair of Trustees! We are looking for someone who has a strong empathy with our mission and interest in the health and wellbeing of children and young people, You should be based locally near or in Bath, and have the desire and motivation to make a difference to local young people's lives. What does the Chair do? The Chair holds the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer to account for ensuring Off the Record is delivering on its Charitable Aim of improving the emotional health and wellbeing of young people in Bath and North East Somerset through providing a range of free, confidential, and independent services. The Chair works closely with the Trustees to together deliver effective governance, and to develop and support the charity and the leadership team. What we are looking for: 👉Experience of working in a leadership role 👉Understanding of the charity sector 👉Experience of chairing meetings 👉Sufficient time to commit to the role 👉Understanding and/or experience of services OTR provides 👉Living locally with an interest in the BaNES community 👉Business acumen 👉Coaching approach 👉Embody the values of OTR We are especially interested in applicants who are from under-represented communities and with lived experiences of poor mental health, as we try and improve the diversity of our Board to help us better lead the charity. Do you have leadership, counselling or business development experience? Passionate about supporting young people and live in the Bath area? If so, please consider becoming a Trustee for Off the Record. We are a friendly bunch who need guidance and oversight from a supportive group of Trustees to continue to grow and improve our services for young people. We are looking for up to three trustees: - A Chair to work closely with the Board to fulfil our strategic objectives and delivery. - A lead for our young people's services, with counselling/management of services experience - A lead for local business development and networking to help us engage locally, and raise our profile and corporate engagement. Fundraising to offer free, independent and confidential support to young people in B&NES
Excellent morning at BANES 3rd Sector Group (3SG) Charity and Business networking breakfast. I was delighted to be invited to speak about our fantastic support from local businesses including Bright Carbon, Reside and Mr B's Book emporium. The event continues all day with a Volunteer Fair, with lots of Bath's charities represented, at the Apex Hotel. Pop along and have a look at the wonderful range of volunteering opportunities in Bath and North East Somerset.
