We had a fantastic day in York yesterday at our annual Project Managers event. Some insightful discussions and presentations from around the business and an amazing team challenge. Was great to see teams from Omexom UK, Omexom Ireland, NorPower Ltd and Kelvin Power Member of VINCI Energies taking part and sharing best practice. #weareomexom

Our Incredible People giving their all for MEN'S MINDS MATTER COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY. Rachel Connolly gathered a team together last weekend to run 10K in aide of this excellent charity. For all of our runners it was their first 10K which made the achievement even sweeter. The team raised a magnificent £1460 for the organisation. Rachel said "What made the day for me were the conversation’s we had and how relevant they were. We had strangers come over to us and open-up about their mental health struggles which opened up further discussions with those who had gone through similar experiences. As difficult as these conversations are to have it felt so right to have in that moment and was a real reminder that what we were doing was so important to do to help support each other. Even if we helped just one person that day it makes the whole experience worthwhile. I can’t express enough how proud It felt to have a team of people who came out of their comfort zone to take part in the run to support each other and help this charity. It felt really humbling to be a part of. To everyone who donated or took part you really have made a difference and you should be proud! I really believe that the one of the best ways to combat mental health is to talk about it and doing it in an informal setting whilst still making it the main focus and getting in some exercise, we can try and normalise these types of discussions. We do all experience similar situations and sharing them can help, it’s difficult but days like that really do make all the difference. Join us as we follow the team around our 400/132kV substation project at Biggleswade. Having broke ground on the site of the new 400kV substation in May last year the team have been making excellent progress to connect the two newly delivered SGTs. Alongside the installation works the team have been pulling HV cables, putting the finishing touches on civil works and erecting noise enclosures. The original 132kV substation has also been upgraded with new bays which the team are working hard on to get connected in tandem with the new substation. When the project comes to a close it will initially double the local power capacity with plans to further increase this as demand rises. In doing so, the community around Biggleswade will be guaranteed a reliable, low carbon energy supply as they continue to expand.
