We fund & build youth centres (called Youth Zones). Incredible spaces in the UK’s most economically disadvantaged areas.
About us
We’re OnSide, a national youth charity that believes all young people should have the opportunity to discover their passion and their purpose. We raise the funds to build state-of-the-art, multimillion-pound youth centres (called Youth Zones) in the country’s most economically disadvantaged areas. We train the amazing people that run them. More than 55,000 members make around 600,000 visits to Youth Zones every year. We offer continuing support to the national OnSide Network where they can learn and grow, share their stories and celebrate their success together. This is a unique partnership between young people and their community, local authorities and private business leadership, and a growing movement of supporters.

This year’s #WorldMentalHealthDay theme, workplace mental health, has us reflecting on our away day last week. Stepping away from our screens allowed us to unplug, reconnect as a team, and focus on mental wellbeing. A reminder to prioritise mental health and support one another both at work and beyond.

Here’s a story to inspire you today... Riley joined Inspire Youth Zone when he was 8. He's grown immensely since becoming a member, learning new skills like DJing, drumming, and more. From overcoming initial nerves to making new friends, the Youth Zone has supported Riley with his confidence. Riley’s story is just one example of how youth spaces and dedicated youth workers can change lives. Let’s make sure more young people can access both. Click the link in the comments to read Riley's story.

We had a fantastic day in Parliament at the 'Meet the Youth Sector' event. Parliamentarians heard from Back Youth Alliance partners, and most importantly, young people, who shared their experiences of the support they've received. Huge thanks to the brilliant Saifeldeen Bassowa, a former member of Wigan Youth Zone, who joined us for the event. #BackYouthAlliance UK Parliament #BackYouth
What an incredible day in UK Parliament! We had a fantastic time with all the members of the #BackYouthAlliance at our ‘Meet The Youth Sector’ drop-in. It was an amazing opportunity to connect directly with Parliamentarians and showcase the incredible work of our #BackYouth partners as well as young people who have benefited from the experiences, programmes and support each partner provides.. A massive thank you to everyone in the alliance for making this event such a resounding success! 🙌✨ YMCA George Williams College The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Girlguiding National Youth Agency OnSide The Prince's Trust The Scouts UK Youth YMCA England & Wales Youth United Foundation

Take a look at the progress at Barnsley Youth Zone! 🤩 It’s incredible to see the building shooting up and taking shape! 🏗️
Fantastic to be onsite at Barnsley Youth Zone earlier this week! Structural works are progressing smoothly, and the M&E first fix is well underway. It’s exciting to see this project coming to life. Proud to be delivering this alongside OnSide and Triton Construction.
