Reflecting on Our Leadership Development Program's Success Yesterday, I had the privilege of hosting our first review and celebration for the "graduates" of the People Matters Leadership Development Program. I was both humbled and deeply impressed by the personal and professional growth people have achieved, evolving from Managers into Leaders. The impact of their transformations on their businesses has been remarkable. Across the board, there was a clear improvement in team engagement. These leaders have collaborated with their teams to develop a shared vision, mission, values, and company objectives. Employees have become more involved through appraisals designed to align their performance with business goals, leading to enhanced communication and stronger connections between team members and the business. There’s now a clearer understanding of the company’s direction and how each person fits into that journey, resulting in improved social cohesion and a shared desire to succeed. The graduates shared that they now prioritise leadership, delegate more effectively, and have gained the time needed to focus on their objectives and invest in the development of their people. The examples and outcomes shared yesterday were incredible. I was amazed at how everyone embraced the program’s workshops and took ownership of both their personal growth and the engagement of their teams. While I’ve always believed that our leadership programs add value, hearing first hand from participants who have attended over the past two years was immensely rewarding and inspiring. Amazing things happen and make you stop in your tracks, it shouldn’t be every four years, if you look hard it’s every day.
I’ve been glued to the set watching the super humans compete in the Paralympics. I’m inspired, humbled and proud at how well the guys in team GB did. But I’m a bit scared of the wheelchair rugby players of all nations to be honest 😂 Total admiration and hats off to everyone from every team who have given up so much and worked so hard with years of sacrifice and dedication to get to the pinnacle of their sport. Nothing short of amazing! Let’s hope it’s not pushed to one side for the next four years. Para sport should be featured along side and integrated with mainstream sport and treated/featured equally. Let’s see real equality in action.
