#fridayframing 'It's been a while since we had a #fridayframing post!' We're rectifying that right now with this impactful Downer project. In all its multi-coloured vibrant glory, it's the perfect way to wrap up August. In case anyone missed the recent NBS Source email campaign featuring our latest Downer Framing Inspirations, we thought we'd share those highlights here. Taking full advantage of NBS's relatively new Inspirations toggle, we've showcased a number of both Downer and Petrarch Panel project case studies, which can be filtered by key qualities that the specifier is searching for. Downer Framing Helps Brent Cross Rise & Shine Brent Cross Town, which is being delivered by Related Argent and Barnet Council – has recently unveiled this powerful and vibrant piece of art. One of the largest urban regeneration projects in Europe, Brent Cross Town has ‘wrapped’ this eye-catching substation in a 21-metre-high permanent public artwork – all of which sits on our robust, sustainably-friendly Downer HELPING HAND framing. https://lnkd.in/eMEXTXEa 'Here we come, here we rise’, created by celebrated artist Lakwena Maciver in collaboration with architects IF_DO, consists of four undulating bands and triangular-shaped lenticular panels that create a kaleidoscopic visual effect to emphasise the idea of movement as viewers move around the structure.' IF_DO The project has also brought back to life a piece of brownfield, ex-industrial land with the creation of a newly landscaped embankment designed by Gillespies. #thursdaythrowback... To just Tuesday! 😉 There's always something satsifying about seeing your project published; whether it's in a physical journal or online. Thank you for sharing this latest healthcare project Omnis Panels (which we're re-appropriating to give it even more glory.) First Health Cancer Care Centre Recently opened, FirstHealth of the Carolinas Cancer Care Centre in Pinehurst, North Carolina, is a purpose-built treatment centre offering the highest quality care for cancer patients and their families across 15 different counties. CPL was awarded the design of this 120,000 sq. ft. facility, which offers state-of-the-art spaces including treatment rooms, clinics, and palliative care, alongside two healing gardens providing unobstructed views and access to natural landscapes. This is a superb reference demonstrating how our reconstituted stone rainscreen blends beautifully with a vast range of building materials. Architect Brad Norvell wanted to create a holistic, harmonious architectural scheme, which he’s achieved with a blend of brick and glass curtainwalling, complemented with Petrarch reconstituted stone facade panels. We are, and we're more than ready to see the return of.... school. ;-) Yes, it's that time of year for a little education sector focus, spurred by Omnis Panels request for a Lookbook on Oyster River Middle School. We duly obliged, and now you can find more impressive project shots on our website, along with a dedicated Lookbook. We were thrilled to receive an excellent testimonial on our reconstituted stone Petrarch rainscreen panel, from Lavallee Bresinger Architects. Thank you to everyone involved in this stand-out Petrarch project, and for the kind words. "Petrarch panels are both beautiful and lightweight. Our design includes long spans. Given the structural members, we were precluded from using a standard brick due to the weight. Knowing that we could not use brick at the upper levels, we turned towards a product that had a similar colour tone that would complement the brick rather than try to imitate it. With that in mind, we turned towards a terracotta panel look. The Petrarch product has a terracotta-looking panel that comes in multiple textures, which is what we were looking for. Ultimately, it was a great fit for us. We wanted a material that was natural, terracotta in appearance, and lightweight. Our firm had used Petrarch in a previous project, and after some research and reviewing samples, we found it to be the perfect product."
