Pilbrow & Partners is an architecture and urban design studio based in London
About us
Pilbrow & Partners was established by Fred Pilbrow, Tal Ben-Amar, Keb Garavito Bruhn, Sam Yousif, Gareth Wilkins and Clare Ralph. The practice is led by Fred Pilbrow, with over 25 years’ experience designing in the UK and abroad. The partners have particular strengths in addressing complex mixed-used development and planning challenges and a track record of successfully developing proposals in sensitive heritage contexts. As well as a team of architects, the practice is strengthened by specialist resources in the areas of architectural design, parametric modelling, BIM, visualisation and model making. Our design approach is open minded, inquisitive and enthusiastic. We do not assume we know the best solution to a given problem at the outset and we work collaboratively with our clients, fellow consultants and other project stakeholders to carefully evaluate potential alternative design approaches. We are creative and imaginative. Yet our creativity and imagination are always grounded in careful research and our conclusions are argued from logic and economy.

🚀 Returning to my alma mater to talk about the future I’m excited to return to the University of Pescara to speak at the event "Technological Innovation and the Manipulation of Social Fear" as part of Brain Awareness Week. Innovation often comes with resistance and fear, but in architecture, it can be a powerful tool to build a more sustainable future. How can we harness AI and digital tools to design better buildings without fear becoming a barrier to progress? At Pilbrow & Partners, we use data-driven design to shape sustainable buildings, leveraging daylight studies, wind modeling, and whole life carbon assessments to optimize performance, but looking ahead, AI is reshaping architecture, from generative design to predictive maintenance, blending human creativity with data-driven intelligence. I look forward to sharing the panel with Roberto Cucitore and Jozef Albert Jo Lernout a pioneer in AI-driven speech and language technology, for this discussion. I will also be presenting some of the projects I’ve worked on as Project Architect, including Vauxhall Square, Westmont White City, and Aspen, demonstrating how Architecture and AI technology can work hand in hand. Many thanks for the invite Filippo Angelucci 📅 Open to the public—details here: Settimanadelcervello.it #SustainableDesign #BuildingPerformance #AIinArchitecture #FutureOfArchitecture #BrainAwarenessWeek

Designed to sit harmoniously with its surroundings, 54 The Bishops Avenue is a new development of 36 apartments in leafy Hampstead, in collaboration with Valouran. The scheme is directly inspired by the site’s proximity to Hampstead Garden Suburb, an early 20th century Arts and Crafts style development, which was designed to create community and improve the lives of its residents. Together with Valouran, we are revitalising a derelict site, restoring natural and heritage assets, and creating a blueprint for a sustainable future for The Bishops Avenue. In September, the Devon-based ceramicist Abigail North (also my sister) received an interesting delivery from Mace. Eight tonnes of clay, dug from the site of EDGE London Bridge, ready for crafting into new decorative elements for the project, which is due for completion in 2026. Working from her studio on the fringes of Dartmoor, Abigail has been transforming this clay into a set that includes floor numbers for the lifts, cups and saucers for the publicly accessible café and an oversize logo for the lobby of the building. The intention is twofold: a nod to the engineering heritage of the surrounding area but also a symbol of the thoughtful sustainable design of the overall scheme. Simten #WildClay

We are showcasing innovative work undertaken with Kerry Greeves’ team at Arup on compressive vaults constructed from reused existing concrete slabs. The work was developed in connection with our proposals for Marks and Spencer at Marble Arch. The model is on show at The Engineering Club exhibition at The Crypt Gallery at Saint Pancras Parish Church, London NW1 2BA until 16 November. https://lnkd.in/e7zvP_TS
