Meet Jessica Whitby, our Sustainability Projects Manager 👋 Jess plays a big part in helping us work towards our decarbonisation goals and wider sustainability ambitions, leading on projects from climate and water to waste and packaging across all of our factories. A large part of this role means ensuring we’re investing in the right projects, and closely monitoring and managing our Net Zero inventory, roadmap, and reduction strategy. Keep your eyes peeled for more company spotlights as we continue to celebrate the Mmmake Your Mark campaign.

Our Beef Sustainability team from the Food Service Division represented Pilgrim's Europe at the annual ERBS event this year. Estelle, Quality and Environment Director, who has recently been appointed Chair of ERBS, introduced the two-day event in Poznan, Poland. It's a great opportunity to better understand how beef sustainability is being addressed across Europe. #Beefsustainability #ERBS #Interbev Estelle Rabourdin I Salomé Rozier I SAI Platform I INTERBEV I Alicia Clavet

This Recycle Week, we're reaffirming our commitment to sustainable production♻️ Our Sustainable Production pillar has five key focus areas: climate, water, waste & circularity, food safety and packaging. We’re reducing packaging across our business and supply chain where it’s not possible to remove. Our teams are collaborating with academics, suppliers and partners to develop solutions that reduce our packaging impact even further. We're doing our bit to make a meaningful impact - but we need your help too! Remember to rescue recyclable products from the bin this Recycle Week and beyond🌍 #RecycleWeek #RescueMeRecycle #Sustainability #PilgrimsEurope

At Pilgrim's Europe we're striving to make positive change in our supply chain and communities. During #AntiSlaveryWeek, we want to highlight the incredible work of Bright Future Co-operative. As proud founding members and partners of this initiative, we support Bright Future’s mission to help survivors of modern slavery rebuild their lives. Through a paid four-week placement and the opportunity for a permanent role, the co-operative provides a pathway back into the workforce. We’ve witnessed the life-changing impact of Bright Future, as it empowers survivors with essential skills, fostering an environment where they are valued and can thrive. Find out more about the Bright Future Co-operative below 👇
This week is Anti-Slavery Week. As we kick off Anti-Slavery Week, it’s important to remember that our fight against modern slavery should be a continuous commitment. This week presents an opportunity for all of us to reflect on our actions and consider what more we can do to tackle modern slavery. 💡 What commitments will you make to combat modern slavery this week and beyond? At Bright Future Co-operative, we partner with over 30 businesses and charities to provide a practical way to support survivors as they rebuild their lives and re-enter the workforce. Together, we can create meaningful opportunities and drive change within our communities. Let’s work together to ensure that every individual has the chance to live in freedom with dignity. Get in touch to learn more about how you can get involved! 📧 : info@brightfuture.coop #AntiSlaveryWeek #modernslavery #employment

It's Recycle Week♻️ According to WRAP, out of the 88% of UK households that regularly recycle, 79% miss items that could be recycled. This 'miss-capture' means valuable materials aren't being given a second or third, or fourth life. Join us in supporting the Recycle Now campaign by WRAP and let's rescue those recyclable products! At Pilgrim’s Europe, sustainability is at the core of everything we do - we're committed to minimising our environmental footprint across our production processes. #RecycleWeek #RescueMeRecycle #Sustainability #PilgrimsEurope

It’s not only during #BabyLossAwarenessWeek that our team is dedicated to raising awareness and supporting the essential work of Sands - baby loss charity. We’ve taken part in a variety of fundraising activities to contribute to this important cause… From Paddy’s ‘Chin Challenge’ where we all voted for the colour he should dye his beard, to marathon running, bake sales, coffee mornings, a 24-hour walk, our digital Christmas card, hikes, and football tournaments - our team has come together in so many creative ways. We're grateful for the opportunity to support such a vital cause 💙 #BLAW

Our Technical and R&D Director, Ursula Lavery MBE, who also serves as Chair of the Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association (NIFDA), is one of many helping to drive this mission forward. At NIFDA’s flagship annual dinner, Ursula spoke of the investment, energy and talent of the industry that will help propel the economy. It’s an exciting, dynamic time for the industry, and we look forward to collaborating with others to make it happen. #NIFDA

A huge congratulations to James Ross, crowned Pig Farmer of the Year at last night's Farmers Weekly Awards! 🐷🎉 Based in Lincolnshire, James is a first-generation farmer managing 1,750 outdoor sows and is dedicated to training the next generation of pig farmers. This is not his first accolade, as he was also named NPA Farm Manager of the Year last year. We’re incredibly proud of our farming partners, drawing on over 80 years of agricultural heritage and collaborating with more than 4,500 UK pork, lamb, and pig farmers like James.
