In response to low satisfaction levels in the energy sector, Ofgem has launched its ‘Consumer Confidence: A Step Up in Standards’ programme, aiming to deliver customer service that rivals other industries. Ofgem may adopt a customer-centric approach, similar to the FCA’s Consumer Duty, prioritising good outcomes for customers. This is a vital step toward enhancing consumer understanding, especially in a complex sector like energy.
