Here are some of the vital resources we’re highlighting: 🔹 The Lighthouse Club - Supporting the construction community with 24/7 helplines, safe spaces, and resources. 🔹 Mind - Offering guidance and support for anyone experiencing mental health challenges. 🔹 ANDYSMANCLUB - Peer support for men, encouraging open discussions about mental health. 🔹 Samaritans - Available 24/7, providing a listening ear for anyone who needs to talk. Internal Support at Powersystems In addition to these resources, we’ve enhanced our internal support network: ✅ Mental Health First Aiders - 9 Trained staff offering immediate guidance and support. ✅ Employee Assistance Program (Health Assured) - Confidential help with mental health, financial, and personal issues. The first turbines at the North Kyle Wind Farm, near New Cumnock, East Ayrshire, have been successfully installed, marking a significant milestone in the project. Once fully operational, the 49 turbines will generate enough electricity to power nearly 170,000 homes across southern Scotland. Developed by Brockwell Energy Limited Energy, the North Kyle Wind Farm is part of a larger effort to regenerate one of Scotland’s former surface coal mining sites. The project is expected to deliver £65 million in Community Benefit funds over its lifetime, supporting local development and regeneration. Powersystems, were awarded the electrical balance of plant works contract, which included the design and installation of the electrical infrastructure, and commissioning the 33 kV substation and connection cables, ensuring the turbines are seamlessly integrated into the National Grid. Construction activities, led by civil engineers Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, commenced in June 2023 and are expected to continue for two years. Key Responsibilities: As Independent EOT Director, you will: ▶Represent the interests of our employee-owners and protect the long-term values of the company ▶Provide strategic advice, support, and guidance to your fellow trustees, contributing to discussions from a position of neutrality ▶Ensure accountability of the Company Board to the EOT and support robust governance practices ▶ Bring valuable external expertise and offer fresh perspectives on different business models and cultures ▶ Challenge ideas constructively, helping to drive innovation and sustainable growth We are seeking someone who: ▶ Has considerable experience leading and contributing to balanced discussions in board meetings ▶ Ideally has experience working in, or with, employee-owned businesses. ▶ Brings commercial experience from companies of a similar size and structure, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by both office and site-based teams The Trustee Board Our trustee board is composed of four directors: three employee directors and one current independent director. We meet quarterly (remotely) and on an ad-hoc basis when required. Each meeting, including preparation and follow-up, requires around 8 hours of commitment. This is a remunerated role. Driving Scotland's Green Future -The Limekiln Wind Farm is more than just a project—it's a step towards a sustainable future! With 24 turbines generating a total of 108 MW, we're proud to support Scotland's journey to net-zero carbon emissions by 2045. In collaboration with RJ McLeod (Contractors) Limited and Boralex Inc., this development is a crucial addition to Scotland's renewable energy landscape. Currently, Powersystems engineering team is preparing the site for final interface testing with SSEN and energisation of the 132 kV substation. Check out the 132/33 kV GT1 transformer protection panel, designed and built in-house by Tim Rendall, featuring a Point on Wave facility.
