22nd October 2024 - the proudest day of my entire career! David Livermore and I facilitated a Masterclass on Cultural Intelligence. Which is what we do but what was so great about this one? 1️⃣ The calibre of those in the room. There were 26 VERY senior professionals from across sectors, who participated. In house Heads of DEI, HR and Executive Directors. Each leader is considered a game changer in their sector and organisation. Can you imagine the sheer richness of the conversation? 2️⃣ Our guest speakers were: Mark Hardingham, Chair of National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) who took us through the implication of getting this wrong via the Grenfell Towers case study. And Nicola Paul took the participants through a Virtual Reality experience using AI and upped the ante on the intersection of tech, learning and culture. 3️⃣ David and I took Cultural intelligence to another level. Knowing the calibre of those in the room, we developed unique content that challenged them to think beyond the realms of possibility. We delved into the real world application of Cultural intelligence and left the participants with practical ways to use CQ for creating psychological safety, for mitigating risks and so much more. So, proudest day because I took a moment to acknowledge what it took to bring these brilliant leaders together, and to stand in front of them sharing my expertise. 3 years ago I didn’t even consider putting a day like this on my life’s vision board 🙏🏽 Of course, those who were in the room want to continue this conversation and no doubt the network and community that will ensue from a day like this is invaluable. It is days like these with people like these that will bring the much needed real change our world needs. Thank you to each and every participant 🙏🏽 Thank you to DLA Piper and especially Joanne Conway BSc MSc for being such a gift in my life and for hosting a day like this ❤️ The work goes on….

Managers are expected to manage without being giving the tools required for effective management. According to the Pearson skills report, there is a gap between employees' current capabilities and what will be needed in the future to meet the changing demands of work. Cultural Intelligence can help close these gaps. It is a skill that will equip managers to manage effectively - domestically and globally. Indeed a #powerskill needed by 2026 for success. The investment in gaining this skill is needed urgently, in here and now. This is what we do and do well. Just ask some of our clients: Informa, Comic Relief, DLA Piper, Chivas Brothers, Hubexo and so many others. 📩 us to start your CQ journey today. #culturalintelligence

Last week, Hira Ali delivered a workshop on Cultural Intelligence for the board of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, on behalf of Prabhaav Global. The session was extremely well received, with excellent feedback from participants. Attendees included board members such as the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief People Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and other Non-Executive Directors. A special thank you to Ritika Wadhwa, Lauren, Charlotte Lombardi-Whitehouse, and Donna Griffiths for their support before and/or during the session, and to Sue Noyes for her very warm welcome on that day. Hira says that it's always a pleasure to speak on topics you’re passionate about, and even more rewarding when people enjoy listening and have their 'aha' moments of learning! 📷 Pics of the Coventry Rail Station, the training room and Hira's pic with Charlotte Lombardi.

Author: Building Inclusion, A Practical Guide to EDI in Architecture & Built Environment, pub Routledge *ORDER NOW!* | Global Award-winning strategist in org inclusion using CQ | Compassionate & honest agent of change

📣 📯 ANNOUNCING! I'M SO EXCITED AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!!! 📯 📣 THE LONDON EVENT FOR Building Inclusion - The Book! I'm delighted that the lovely team at The London School of Architecture have suggested I host the event, with them. And, it makes perfect sense as the Stephen Lawrence Day Foundation is supporting and endorsing the book and the event, and the SDLF and the LSA are working together on the #Part0 commission to encourage marginalised young people into the #BuiltEnvironment professions. 🥁 This will be no ordinary book launch. In fact it's not really about the book at all. It's about the work. Building Inclusion: A #Practical Guide to #Equity, #Diversity and #Inclusion in Architecture and the Built Environment, was written with one key purpose: to transform the built environment by providing professionals the tools, guidance, and inspiration to create inclusive cultures within their practice. This not-for-profit event focuses on the professionals and trades making this change. As many professional networks promoting underrepresented voices as we can manage from the Building People CIC network of networks, will come together with key decision-making professionals from #architecture, #construction, #engineering, #RealEstate, and related fields to discuss, imagine and celebrate an inclusive built environment. I'll do a talk, followed by a panel hosted by BBC London's Aminata Kamara, with Neal Shasore, Arthur Mamou-Mani, Pareisse Wilson and [EDIT:] Russell Curtis, representing the pillars I describe the book: #Attract, #Retain, #Create, #Engage. This evening is an opportunity to network and connect with individuals and organisations in support of working to end discrimination and create more inclusive cultures across the natural and built environments. 🤝 In Partnership with SLDF Stephen Lawrence was an aspiring architect when he was murdered and this partnership recognises a shared ambition to drive the agenda for inclusion throughout the built environment in his name. All income from book sales at the event will be donated to the charity. The event is being supported by some incredible sponsors, tba. It'll be an evening of fun, laughter, energy and purpose. 💃 🕺 **THERE ARE LIMITED PLACES** so register now for 'General Admission' or as relevant, 'Supported Attendance' or 'd/Deaf Community', if you have not already been directly contacted to register under another ticket type. The other #BuildingInclusion London event at The RSA (The royal society for arts, manufactures and commerce) is SOLD OUT! Waitlist only. If you're based in the Midlands and wish to attend that book launch event to mark #StephenLawrence's 50th Birthday at the SL Research Centre at De Montfort University on 12th September, book here: https://lnkd.in/eM73VDQz REGISTER TO ATTEND THE LONDON EVENT HERE: https://lnkd.in/e6zErKeq
