The only UK charity funding ground-breaking research solely aimed at preventing breast cancer for future generations.
About us
Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease. Breast cancer is the most common cancer for women in the UK. We promote healthier lifestyles, early diagnosis and collaborate with others to influence change in breast cancer services. Breast cancer is a devastating disease that affects too many people – the patients, their families, friends and colleagues. It is a disease that can often be cured if caught early and suitable treatments are prescribed. But what if there was no need for the cure? There was no diagnosis, no before or after breast cancer. What if people could live their lives safe in the knowledge that it would never happen to them. Every year, in the UK, over 55,000 individuals are diagnosed – 150 people a day. And every year, we lose 11,500 to this disease. We predict – by identifying who is at risk of breast cancer We prevent – by offering preventative interventions, to stop breast cancer before it starts We protect – our goal is to shield future generations from breast cancer We know we can put an end to this devastating disease. But we need your support. Together we can protect our future generations. Together we can PREVENT BREAST CANCER.

We are so grateful to Louise Stephenson (Associate CIPD) Lewis Cooney and team for hosting a fantastic Bake Sale today! The event was filled with delicious treats and great energy. A huge shoutout to the bakers who contributed with their homemade bakes. We saw everything from a first ever attempt at making scones to expertly decorated cupcakes - all in aid of Prevent Breast Cancer. We're absolutely delighted to say that Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has come on board as a patron of Prevent Breast Cancer. She visited The Nightingale Centre today, where the build of a new National Breast Imaging Academy will soon be underway. Having being diagnosed with breast cancer at a routine mammogram, Sarah knows all too well the importance of early detection. She spoke with a number of patients and breast imaging specialists, and is fully behind opening the Academy doors to help alleviate the current delays in diagnosis and treatment across England. You can support the Academy too by donating today 👉 https://lnkd.in/edATDr6h #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #diagnosis #mammogram
