This week, Paul Weston and Jason Longhurst attended #MIPIM2025 which bought together investors, developers, agents, and the public sector.   Paul and Jason were involved with a wide range of meetings, including:   ✅ Media interviews with Financial Times and Bloomberg discussing the key trends in Industrial Logistics in the UK ✅Political engagement with Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, Jules Pipe, Howard Dawber, Gus Wiseman, David Williams MBE DL and Greg Clark. ✅Networking across the Industrial Logistics sector, sharing best practice and insights with peers, facilitated by Colliers, British Property Federation, McLaren Construction Group, Newmark and DTRE LLP.   There was strong interest in growth and inward investment, which was seen as key to unlocking regional economic opportunities in areas like West London, the Midlands, and North West. Planning and power were consistently discussed headwinds, with planning red tape threatening to slow growth and grid capacity and access hindering delivery. Investment confidence in the UK depends on a stable ‘investable environment’ shaped by government policy.   Encouragingly, discussions with partners and stakeholders reinforced the critical role of Industrial Logistics in driving high-growth strategies. Positive engagement with the Department for Business and Trade & Office for Investment, and Greater London Authority helped boost confidence in UK investment potential.

Recently, Mary Reidy, with a team from Prologis UK, took part in the LandAid SleepOut, swapping warm beds for sleeping bags to raise funds for young people facing homelessness.   A tough but humbling experience, it reinforced why LandAid’s work is so important. This National Careers Week, over 100 young people from local schools attended a Careers Event at The Hub at DIRFT to learn more about the exciting world of #Logistics! Two sessions, exploring global supply chains and technology in logistics were run with great enthusiasm from the team at MYPATH. A wide range of careers were brought to life by volunteers from GXO Logistics, Inc., DHL, Tesco, Stephen George + Partners LLP, Winvic Construction Ltd- who took part in a speed networking event with the young people to explain about their roles in the sector.
