𝗣𝗦𝗠 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹 A contract to supply a comprehensive system for a new build passenger vessel by the leading Chilean shipyard, ASENAV S.A. has recently been awarded to PSM. The maritime industry has diverse requirements, and this project perfectly showcases our ability to deliver flexible and simple to install solutions. Our APT1000 intelligent level transmitters feature in the system, and they accurately monitor the contents of over 30 onboard storage tanks, including ballast, fuel oil, and service tanks. To ensure seamless integration and efficient data management, the system will utilise our RFM4 termination modules and a serial RS485 network, feeding into the VPM4300 series data acquisition and processing display unit. Beyond tank level measurement, the system will also incorporate vessel draught measurement, providing comprehensive information in both tabular and bar graph formats on the VPM4300 unit and a second remote display connected via a single ethernet link. To address the specific requirements of vessel trim and heel monitoring, a dedicated VPM4300 unit will be supplied, utilising integrated inclinometers for accurate data collection. This project underscores PSM's commitment to delivering complete tank gauging solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and compliance within the maritime sector. If you would like more information on our complete Tank Gauging Systems, or any of our products, please email sales@psmmarine.com or call +44 (0) 1444 410040. #ASENAV #maritime #shipbuilding #tankguaging #PSMMarine #passengervessels

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟬 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗴𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 It’s easy to forget some key aspects when installing and commissioning tank management equipment. Here at Scanjet PSM Marine, we don’t want you to do that, so for the last instalment of our series on tank management systems, we look at the top ten things you might not remember. 1. Taking accurate measurement of the sensor's mounting height above the tank’s lowest point. This helps ensure the system is configured correctly. 2. Making sure the correct Specific Gravity value is used in the monitoring system to avoid calculation errors. 3. Ensuring that the system is powered from an isolated supply to avoid potential ground loops / earth faults being generated. Also, that all signal cable screens are correctly terminated to avoid interference from other adjacent equipment. In our latest article we have highlighted another seven important aspects, so to find out what they are, click to our website: https://lnkd.in/eaME5yPS We have been providing tank level gauging solutions for over 45 years, so for expert advice on your next tank gauging project, please contact us at sales@psmmarine.com or call +44 (0) 1444 410040 to discuss your requirements. #ScanjetPSMMarine #tanklevelguaging #tankmanagementsystems #maritime #shipbuilding

𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝟭𝟬 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 (𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁!) Our three part series offers practical advice to mitigate risks and challenges associated with tank management system installations. In the second part, we look at the top 10 things people often forget when it comes to tank level gauging. The first three common oversights are: 1. Sensor Measurement:  Sensors cannot measure liquid below their physical measuring diaphragm. The contents below will require calculation in the monitoring system. 2. Sensor Material Matters: Depending on the tank contents, selecting the right material will ensure the longevity of the sensor.  3. Sensor Output: The output will be affected by the movement of the vessel unless compensated for in the monitoring system. To discover the other seven things, you shouldn’t forget, and to find more information on designing, specifying, installing and commissioning tank sensors and systems, click to our website: https://lnkd.in/eJBzaAPF At Scanjet PSM Marine, we have been providing tank level gauging solutions for over 45 years, so please email us at sales@psmmarine.com or call +44 (0) 1444 410040 to discuss your next project.    #ScanjetPSMMarine #tanklevelguaging #tankmanagementsystems #marine #shipbuilding #marineindustry

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗮 Scanjet PSM Marine secured an instrumentation order for the new build Joint Support Ship being being built by Seaspan ULC shipyard for the Royal Canadian Navy. This was achieved by working closely with our Canadian agent Bestobell Aquatronix. This multi-purpose naval vessel with a length of 173.7 metres and a breadth of 24 metres is the largest ever constructed in Canada. Significant instrumentation was required for a vessel of this size including more than 140 level and pressure transmitters, over 30 flood detection switches, and associated termination modules. A future order for all tank level alarm switches is expected. Our latest generation APT1000 configurable transmitters were supplied for this project. A number of other naval vessels from other countries have been equipped with these transmitters as they are made from corrosion resistant materials which are capable of withstanding the toughest operating conditions. They are also certified according to ATEX and IECEx regulations for installation in hazardous areas. 𝗣𝗦𝗠’𝘀 𝗕𝗟𝗦 𝟵𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗰𝗵𝘁𝘀 The PSM BLS 9200 Bilge Level Switch is a fully submersible marine approved float switch. It is designed, manufactured and approved to meet and exceed the requirements for applications on all classes of marine vessels and offshore installations. In particular, its proven reliable performance and robust construction have led to it being the instrument of choice in critical applications for superyachts, military vessels and offshore platforms. When considering bilge switches, it can be easy to try and make cost savings by using cheaper instruments, which are often constructed with lower quality and less resilient materials. However, this approach can compromise safety. It can also represent a false economy, as maintenance and replacement costs will always exceed those of installing a sensor that can withstand years of service in difficult environmental conditions, as is the case with the BLS 9200. The all-stainless-steel design of the BLS 9200 with EPR cable means it is resistant to seawater, fuel oil and hydraulic fluid and uses a two-bolt mounting bracket ensuring that installation is quick, simple and secure. The integral switch test level also allows for routine safety tests to be carried out. The BLS 9200 can be tailored to customers’ exact requirements and is why some of the world’s most prestigious superyacht builders have chosen the BLS 9200. It has been supplied to vessels constructed by Amels and Feadship in the Netherlands, Pendennis Shipyard and Oyster Yachts in the UK, and Turquoise Yachts in Turkey. If you would like to find out more about our BLS 9200 Type Approved bilge switch, and how it could be tailored to your vessels, then please visit our website: https://lnkd.in/eMTprz-u You can also email sales@psmmarine.com or call +44 (0) 1444 410040.
