Our Annual General Meeting took place in Helsinki, Finland, on 13 March 2025. 2024 marked an all-time high for all of us at Wärtsilä. We've remained focused on strengthening our business by prioritising our profitable core areas and making significant strides towards hitting our financial targets. #HotOffThePress - Wärtsilä will supply replacement engines for two inland waterway tug pusher vessels owned by ADM Naviera Chaco (ADM). The new engines will reduce the environmental impact and increase the efficiency of the tug pushers. ADM’s stated target is to reduce emissions by 25% by 2035, and the advanced Wärtsilä engine technology is an important opportunity to advance that effort in South America. “The Wärtsilä engines selected for this project have the fuel flexibility that we seek, especially as we look to the potential of alternative future fuels. At the same time, the project will help us to improve operational reliability and lower our maintenance costs.” - Raul Valdez V., Logistic Director, ADM Naviera Chaco The two vessels, which will operate in Paraguayan rivers, are the Decatur Lady and Tendota. Earlier this week, Jacob Wallenberg, Honorary Doctor of the University of Vaasa and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Investor, reminded us all of the important role investments in research and infrastructure play in driving economic growth across the Nordics and Europe. Wallenberg was presented with a doctoral hat, a sword and a diploma at the ceremony. Following the ceremony, hosted by the University of Vaasa, Wallenberg and our CEO, Håkan Agnevall, toured the university's state-of-the-art energy laboratory.   We at Wärtsilä are proud of our strategic collaboration with the University of Vaasa.
