Last week, we were welcomed to Amman, Jordan for the QS Arab Forum 2024, exploring the theme of 'Fuelling collaborative and ethical research towards building knowledge economies in the Arab World in the era of AI'. Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research for Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Forum united university leaders across the Arab region and provided a platform for dynamic exchanges of views on topical issues affecting higher education in the region. By gathering leaders and influencers of the academic world, the forum cultivated a conducive environment for knowledge sharing, collaboration and influence, where delegates engaged in sessions covering: 👷♂️ University capacity building to promote excellence 📊 Unlocking insights for benchmarking and development ⭐ Comprehensive university assessment for development and reputation building 📖 Institutional story telling through data and branding QS Principal Consultant Habib Fardoun said: "The academic landscape in the Arab region faces a critical challenge: limited global recognition. Despite advancements and talent within the region, much of the work produced by universities remains underrepresented on the international stage. The region can contribute significantly to global knowledge. How can we better support these efforts and ensure the world recognises the valuable contributions coming from this region?" Thank you to our university partner, Applied Science University, for working with us to facilitate this important annual assembly in the Arab region.
