Last Thursday, we had the privilege of joining our client, General Projects, and the talented Architects of Feix & Merlin for a tour of the beautifully restored Walworth Town Hall in South London.   This Grade II listed building, severely damaged by fire in 2013, has undergone an extraordinary transformation. It’s inspiring to see how this remarkable transformation has removed Walworth Town Hall from the Heritage at Risk register in 2024, giving the building a new lease of life.   We’re incredibly proud to have acted as Project Managers, Cost Consultants, and Employer’s Agents on this project, contributing to such an important piece of South London’s architectural and cultural heritage.   Thank you to everyone who made this project a success, including Conamar (Main Contractor), Feix&Merlin Architects (Architect), Heyne Tillett Steel (Structural Engineer), RED Engineering (Services Engineer) and Rolfe Judd Planning (Planning Consultants). We can’t wait to see how this revitalised building will continue to serve the community for years to come. We are delighted to share that our client, Kingsbridge, has received planning approval for the development of highly sustainable business units in Hook. This project will transform a previously derelict site, once home to Europa House, into a thriving employment hub. Following the site’s acquisition and demolition in late 2023, the development will deliver three best-in-class units: one spanning 37,800 sqft and two smaller units of 9,280 sqft each. Sustainability is at the heart of this project, featuring solar panels for renewable energy, electric vehicle charging points, and ample bicycle parking. The development is targeting net zero embodied carbon and aims to achieve a biodiversity net gain well above the 10% required by the local authority. In addition, the project is pursuing the highest standards in environmental performance, including the BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating and an EPC A+ energy efficiency certification. Work is expected to begin on site in the first quarter of 2025, with the completion targeted by the end of the year.
