I am currently looking for a full-time senior bid writer to join my team and contribute to our continued success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in all aspects of bid writing, PQQs, and proposals within the construction industry. Experience with cut-and-carve projects and the refurbishment of live buildings would be a significant advantage. While I recruit for this permanent role, I’m also open to connecting with experienced bid writers who can support me on a freelance basis during January, February and into March. Feix&Merlin Architects’s restoration and transformation of #Walworth Town Hall in South London establishes a dynamic new workspace and community hub, breathing new life into the Grade-II listed landmark over a decade after it was damaged by fire. On Thursday last week, we returned to work to the devastating news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Rachael Carpenter CF.APMP. Rachael leaves behind her beloved two-year-old daughter and a loving family. She was an integral part of our team at Conamar, joining shortly after I took up my post. Over the past six years, Rachael’s remarkable skill, dedication and hard work played a pivotal role in our success. Her contributions enabled us to secure larger, more ambitious projects and achieve numerous high-profile framework awards. Rachael was truly exceptional. Unflappable under pressure, she approached every challenge with confidence and calm. Whether meeting tight deadlines or adding the finishing touches to a tender submission in its closing moments, she had a unique ability to make even the most stressful situations manageable. Her loss will be deeply felt—not only by her family and friends but also by her colleagues, past and present, as well as by clients and the wider industry she touched so profoundly. At this time, the circumstances of her passing and details of her funeral are not yet known. We will share updates when available. For now, we kindly ask for your understanding as we navigate this difficult period and adjust to this profound loss. Conamar

Celebrating the Completion of Walworth Town Hall Conamar is proud to announce the completion of the transformative refurbishment and extension of Walworth Town Hall. This landmark project breathes new life into the historic building, which had stood derelict since a devastating fire in 2013. Now, the Town Hall shines as a beacon of sustainability, community, and innovation, blending heritage with modern functionality. Project Highlights: Sustainability at the Core: The project incorporated sustainable design and construction practices, including the use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) for vertical extensions and roofs, significantly reducing the carbon footprint. The revitalised Town Hall is designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of Very Good, underscoring our commitment to environmentally responsible development. Community Hub: At the heart of the design is a free-to-use community hub, along with flexible event spaces and creative workspaces, fostering collaboration and enhancing accessibility for local residents. Heritage Restored: Original features dating back to 1894 have been meticulously restored, preserving the building’s historical charm while introducing modern amenities to meet contemporary needs. Vibrant New Spaces: The new central atrium now serves as a dynamic focal point for interaction and innovation. A healthy café and co-working spaces anchor the Town Hall to the newly constructed Walworth Square, creating a seamless flow between the building and the community. Enhanced Accessibility: A new core and improved entryways make the Town Hall a welcoming and inclusive space for all. This project has delivered 50,000 sq/ft of usable space, transforming a derelict structure into a thriving community landmark.
