We are excited to see the progress on the redevelopment of 188 City Road—the former Lipton Tea Company headquarters—where Quantem successfully managed the challenging procurement some time ago, working with Native Land, Shorea Capital, and Stiff + Trevillion Architects, the project is being lead by Storey and built by 8build. This was an extremely challenging project to procure, from retaining 70% of the original structure to meeting ambitious net-zero carbon and sustainability targets. Despite the complexities, we delivered the procurement within budget, and it’s fantastic to see the vision coming to life. We’re proud to be part of such a forward-thinking team, and can’t wait to see this iconic space contribute to London’s vibrant future! 🚀
Native Land and Shorea Capital unveil SIRA, a sustainable office redevelopment of the former Lipton Tea Company headquarters at London’s 188 City Road, Old Street. Designed by Stiff + Trevillion Architects, SIRA will retain 70% of the original structure and further increase net floor area by 36%. It will be net zero carbon in operation with all-electric services, high-performance glazing, and green roofs. Alasdair Nicholls, Chief Executive of Native Land, said: “We are committed to delivering sustainable places and adding value through cutting-edge practices. At 188 City Road, we are proud to be working with Shorea, to be retaining the character and embodied carbon of the existing building, while bringing it up to the highest modern workspace standards. With the recent upgrades to the Old Street roundabout and station, this prime location is now even more exciting and accessible.” Read more via the Native Journal: https://lnkd.in/eAjdFCsm For further information about SIRA, please visit sira-ec1.com 8build, Heyne Tillett Steel, NDY, Savills, Ellis Brown #londondevelopment #london #workspace #londonoffices
