Since breaking ground a month ago, our Prep School building project has continued to progress, reaching several significant milestones as we transition into the structural phase of the development.   As part of our efforts to bring the community closer to the project, we spoke with Quattro Design Architects, who provided valuable insights into the thought process behind the design and the challenges of working with a historic site surrounded by natural obstacles. Over the next year, we will be introducing you to the team behind this exciting new development.   The inaugural “Meet the Team” Q&A will feature the talented architects from Quattro Design Architects Ltd, the creative minds responsible for the conceptual design and visual structure of the project. Throughout the development process, the team has carefully navigated a range of natural and historical considerations, ensuring these elements are seamlessly integrated into the design. Their expertise has been instrumental in transforming complex ideas into a cohesive vision, laying a solid foundation to bring the project to life.   "The vision behind the new Prep School buildings is to respect and respond to the remarkable Westonbirt Estate, creating a cohesive and dynamic complex of buildings that will give the Prep School a fresh and enhanced identity. Our design blends the contemporary new buildings with the historic ‘Querns’ building, forming a new central space and providing fantastic improved facilities for children, staff, and parents," said the team at Quattro.   Stay updated on the progress of this exciting project and read more about the development: https://lnkd.in/ebQpkjQn

  • Rural Exceptions site in the Cotswolds honoured in CPRE Gloucestershire Awards.   Richard Fellows was delighted to attend the 2024 CPRE Gloucestershire Awards ceremony, which was held at the fantastic venue of Elmore Court, with J Harper & Sons, Gloucestershire Rural Community Council and members of North Cerney Parish Council. The awards, which are now in their 17th year celebrate outstanding contributions to the local environment and community.   The rural exceptions site in the Cotswolds village of North Cerney delivers two, 2-bedroom shared ownership houses, six 1-bedroom flats to rent and four 2-Bedroom houses to rent. Following an extensive consultation with local residents, the Parish Council and wider community we worked closely with Cirencester Housing and Gloucestershire Rural Communities Council to bring forward the development of 12 much-needed affordable homes for local people. With a focus on the use of local materials the scheme sits well within its surrounds and integrates with the wider village. A fabric first approach and the use of air source heat pumps ensure that homeowners and occupiers will benefit from the efficient homes with lower running costs.   Reflecting on the award which was presented ‘For actioning and delivering an exemplar of much needed rural affordable housing, in a manner that works well for the residents, incorporates high standards of building performance and blends into its rural setting’. Richard said that he was honoured to be recognised in this was and that the scheme was an outstanding example of how well considered development can complement existing villages and provide much needed affordable housing for people with a local connection.   Richard Fellows | J.HARPER & SONS(LEOMINSTER)LIMITED | CPRE The countryside charity | CIRENCESTER HOUSING Limited #architecture #ruralarchitecture

  • This festive period our amazing Quattro team has been busy raising much-needed funds and making donations in support of several worthy causes. Emily's Gift Our annual staff raffle of delectable delights went down a storm together with our 'guess the number' teasers. We smashed last years total and raised £367.50. This year’s raffle funds raised will be going to Emily’s Gift is charity is dedicated to fundraising for children with cancer in Gloucestershire after Julie Kent and her husband Bernard’s first daughter Emily died of a brain tumour when she was just three years old. You can find out more about the charity at https://lnkd.in/eCK9ExKX Food Bank Our local food bank supplies Emergency food for local people in crisis and continues to work on ending food poverty in Gloucester. This year our dedicated staff came together to donate 3 boxes full of treats for the Christmas hampers the food bank makes to support those who really need it this time of year. Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day on the 12th December was once again well turned out by our staff. With an additional focus again on sustainability, we asked our team that only pre-loved / charity shop purchases be made, in selecting their jumpers, if they didn't fancy bringing out a classic retro one already owned!
