Last week a group of veteran sign makers from Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company were fortunate to be invited to see the Rolls-Royce space at their Aerospace campus. Earlier this summer, former Army aircraft technician Robert Kemp represented Rolls-Royce during an event for #Defence companies with The D Group. He kindly invited our veterans and colleagues on a knowledge sharing mission. It was a really rewarding experience to learn about the manufacturing and testing processes for their jet engines, as well as to see the historic planes they have on site. This Spitfire is an original plane which flew on reconnaissance missions as part of Operation Crossbow during World War Two. The Battle of Trafalgar took place in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Spain on October 21 1805 and was a pivotal moment in the Napoleonic wars that helped establish Britain as the dominant naval power. On October 19 1914, Allied forces commenced the first of three battles with the Germans to take charge of Ypres’ beneficial positioning during World War I. Today, we were delighted to welcome Alistair Carns OBE MC MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Minister for Veterans and People, to our Centenary Village. After meeting some of our amazing veterans, the Minister announced an incredible £1 million grant for our expansion of the Centenary Village. Another fantastic Highways UK event well underway on day two with loads of networking opportunities and chances to meet up with existing and new customers about their signage needs.
