Now Dawn McAra-Hunter is speaking at the BSI panel on AI Economy – Start-ups, Supply Chains, and Upskilling 🚀 During the discussion, Dawn highlights that "Businesses are really keen to do the right thing but it’s hard for them to navigate to what the right thing is…. We have to acknowledge the challenges they face such as lack of knowledge, resource, or expertise to engage in and implement standards and doing the right thing. So, whilst it’s great to discuss global initiatives, we would encourage businesses to engage with more local initiatives (e.g., the Scottish AI Alliance) to get help overcome those challenges”. 💡 Stay tuned for our updated playbook website (coming soon!), where you'll find valuable resources to support your business and AI journey.

Today, Steph Wright, Head of the Scottish AI Alliance, delivered a keynote talk on 'Delivering on Scotland’s AI Strategy' and participated in 'The Future of AI' panel at the BSI event, held at the EICC. During the panel, Steph discussed sustainability and the future of AI. Some key insights from her discussion included: “What’s good for society will be good for economy, the same cannot necessarily be said the other way round” and "pursuit of growth, growth, growth is not sustainable”. She also echoed the thought-provoking statement raised by Rachel Coldicutt at our Edinburgh Summit earlier this year: "Should we treat AI as a scarce resource?" We hope you found the panel insightful if you attended the BSI event today.
