We also provide specialist services in areas including housing and welfare, women's issues, community development, the media and the arts. We play a leading role in policy development and campaign on refugee issues to ensure that Scotland plays a full role in meeting the UK's legal and humanitarian obligations under the 1951 United Nations Convention on Refugees.

A baby has died in another heart-breaking incident on the Channel. Tragic deaths like these are preventable. No one risks their lives, or the lives of their children, unless they feel they have no other option. To end this horror, we need safer and simpler routes to refugee protection in the UK https://lnkd.in/eekUUW83

Our amazing Peer Volunteers – who all have lived experience of the asylum system – design and deliver regular learning sessions for refugee communities. Earlier this week, the topic was our Helpline. People had the chance to hear from one of our Helpline Advisers, share their experiences of using the service, and provide feedback about ways we can improve. It was a really productive meeting. Thanks so much to everyone who came along.

Despite having years of experience, Annie was struggling to find work until she got training and support from our refugee employment programme. Now she has a job as a barista. Last year we helped 241 New Scots to understand the UK job market and look for work. Read Annie's story to find out more: https://ow.ly/QYoh50THGXY
