🌟 SBHA supporting the next generation in communication skills! 🌟
We are delighted to share that on Tuesday this week SBHA had the opportunity to present at the Communication in the Workplace workshops for S3 English pupils at Earlston High School. It was a great morning of interactive sessions organised by Amy Hamilton, Project Officer/School Coordinator from Developing the Young Workforce Borders.
Carole Pritchard, HR Business Partner, and Louise McNeilage, Tenant & Community Engagement Facilitator, were there on behalf of SBHA. The aim was to raise awareness and understanding of how communication is used within the workplace through engagement with employers.
In SBHA’s ‘Pitch Perfect’ workshops, the focus was on enhancing presentation skills and building confidence in pitching. These skills are crucial, whether it's for presenting to an employer at interviews for work experience, pitching a new idea in school, or taking on leadership roles in S5/S6 and beyond.
It was an excellent morning and fantastic to see the enthusiasm and engagement from the students involved. There were some brilliant and creative presentations, including subjects such as horses, hockey, football, F1, Minecraft, China, toucans, English Teacher Mr Mitchell, and even low fade taper haircuts!! The sessions emphasised the importance of English and the transferable communication skills for any job role in the housing sector.
SBHA is proud to be an organisation that values continuous learning and development. Thank you for inviting us Developing the Young Workforce Borders.
