October was a busy month for the SIGTTO Secretariat, having successfully coordinated two Regional Panels! We were overwhelmed by a record-breaking number of registrations to our London Regional Panel, which took place on Wednesday, 9th October. We’d like to thank Eleni Lazaratou and Hans Weverbergh for chairing the morning and afternoon sessions, respectively. SIGTTO also expresses gratitude to Andrew Johnston and China LNG Shipping (International) Co., Ltd. who played an instrumental role in pulling together last week’s Shenzhen Regional Panel. We are beholden by the event sponsorship and effort made. Our Regional Panels are impactful, collaborative events which meld member companies and facilitate an environment for knowledge sharing. We'd like to acknowledge all speakers who have delivered detailed, insightful presentations. 🚢 SIGTTO Board Members visit to Hekinan Thermal Power Station   The Board Meeting for SIGTTO (Society of Gas Tanker and Terminal Operators) was held in Nagoya, Japan the other day. Tetsuya Watabe, Corporate Vice President of JERA has joined the meeting as the Senior Vice President of SIGTTO.   SIGTTO is an international body established for the exchange of technical information and experience, between members of the industry, to enhance the safety and operational reliability of gas tankers and terminals. At the Board Meeting, Mr. Watabe explained about JERA’s initiative leading the industry for safely transporting and handling fuel ammonia. A site tour to the Hekinan Thermal Power Station was also made to introduce the world’s first commercial scale fuel ammonia demonstration project.   At JERA, we will leverage our expertise build up through the 50 years of experience of transporting and handling LNG to next generation of low carbon fuel of Hydrogen/Ammonia also in a safe manner for the realization of the JERA Zero Emissions 2050.   #JERA #LowCarbonFuel #Ammonia #LNG #SIGTTO

It was an excellent experience to present at the SIGTTO Regional Panel in Houston this week. The audience showed a keen interest in the growing LNG supply chain and its associated challenges, particularly with the pressing issue of maritime decarbonisation. To top off the week, a live demonstration was conducted for SIGTTO and many other stakeholders involved in the LNG Industry.
