"if you're not actively building community on social you're missing a huge opportunity and are terrible at your job and should resign" FELLOW SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGERS: let me just remind you that if you're managing to get anything out at all most days, you're winning. don't focus on the things you're "not doing" or "supposed to" be doing. do what you can! that's enough and you're amazing at it. this list goes beyond "building community" too. if you've read a report about how social search is the new Google and panicked about what to do - I know I have - don't. just d keep doing your thing and get to these things when you can. social folks get enough grief as it is, don't be the cause of your own suffering

TikTok is literally telling us what to post For free. Not just what’s trending but what people actually want, how they search for it, and what content works. - What people are searching for - The exact words they use - What’s trending alongside it - What content already performs Take “best road running shoes” – 132K searches in the last 7 days. TikTok is basically handing brands a playbook: What products/brands to push (Hoka, future styles, men’s options) When demand spikes (seasonality, product drops) -> opportunity for reactive PR How to present it (feature highlights, user experience, personal reviews) This isn’t just social it’s real-time consumer behaviour. Soon this will be something you can analyse and understand at scale. TikTok isn’t replacing search, it’s expanding it. The way people search here is impacting how they search everywhere else. Are you using it as part of your content strategy?

I've made a promise to create the best thing i've ever created in my life! I want to make a promise to everyone coming to SocialDay ® Social Media Marketing Festival 2025. For the past few years, I’ve been running forums and events for the social media marketing community, creating spaces to learn, share, and connect. During this time, I’ve made it my mission to understand what makes events truly valuable and, more importantly, what makes them suck, so I can do the opposite. That’s why I’m putting EVERYTHING into making SocialDay 2025 the most valuable, interactive, and immersive social media event yet. I want every speaker, sponsor, and attendee to feel like a VIP. We’re not just another event, we’re a community that believes social media can be better. No circuit speakers. No generic marketing talks. Just real people, sharing real strategies that actually work so people can learn from each other. What I Know to Be True So Far: Quality over quantity, We’re capping at 300 social media professionals to keep it focused, valuable, and community-driven. No generic marketing content , This is 100% social media-focused. No pointless sales talks. No fluff. Real insights, not recycled keynotes , We’re showcasing the people behind the big and small campaigns, not just the same speakers you see everywhere else. SocialDay Social Media Festival 2025 So Far: 20 Confirmed Speakers and Panellists (Many more to come, have a flick through!) 6 Confirmed Sponsors Some of Our Amazing Speakers: ✅ Pinterest UK – Heather Bowen on the future of social commerce ✅ TikTok ✅ Andy Lambert (Adobe) & Luan Wise on what’s next for social media in 2025 ✅ Rise at Seven | Search-First Creative Agency on how TikTok Search is changing everything ✅ Ross Middleham from the Met Office (Who has also helped me put this programme together), ITV, CityPress & more! Confirmed Sponsors: Planable, Rise at Seven, The Influence Room, Phantom Peak, Metricool, and Sprout Social, Inc. Some of the best in the industry. And it’s not just talks, we’ve got: 📸 Fun Self-shots with Candid Studios 🎮 Games, trails & brunch meetups thanks to Phantom Peak 🤝 Meet the Buyer sessions 💡 Tech showcases & practical learning 🛠️ 365-day support via our SocialDay Circle platform I honestly believe tickets will sell out! But more importantly - I want to be PROUD of this event and I want it to be the leading social media event - no ugly carpets, harsh down-lights or soggy sandwiches in sight. What do you think? Can I do it? Will I keep my promise?
