Enabling the transformation of people's lives
About us
SOFEA was founded in 2014, with the focus of enabling people to transform their lives. We are a charity head quartered in Didcot with a second location added in Milton Keynes. Using surplus food, we distribute to thousands of people per week, across our local communities. We work with disadvantaged people, (mostly young people) helping them gain qualifications in English and Math, providing work experience and offering wellbeing support. Please feel free to contact us if you would like to find out further information on how you can support us. We offer corporate volunteering days, and various fund-raising events throughout the year. SOFEA's Autism Advocacy Group were lucky enough to be invited to the Didcot Job Centre to deliver some training to the work coaches. Charlie and Max wanted to share their lived experience as Autistic people seeking employment, aiming to improve acceptance of Autistic people's needs and reduce barriers for the community. "Everybody really enjoyed the training yesterday; we’ve had really positive feedback, and it’s prompted some really important conversations within the Job Centre about how we communicate changes with customers. Special thank you to Max and Charlie for sharing their individual experiences; it’s great to hear first-hand how we can support people in a more effective way." - Danielle, Didcot Job Centre.

Henry Gyamfi (left), the founder of Unlock Your Voice, visited our Milton Keynes site to run a session on Mindset for our Motivational Support Group. Our young people left with fresh insights and practical tips on how to shift their mindset to overcome challenges. They loved the session and took away something valuable to apply moving forward. From everyone at Milton Keynes, we’d like to thank Henry Gyamfi for leading such an amazing session.
