About us

The South West London Social Care Academy Hub is part of the Greater London Authority’s Mayor’s Academies Programme covering the six London Boroughs of Croydon, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton and Wandsworth. The Mayor’s Academies Programme (MAP) aims to support Londoners hardest hit by the pandemic into good work in sectors key to London’s recovery and long-term economic growth, as part of the London Recovery Programme. The SWL Social Care Academy Hub aims to support the social care sector by improving workforce recruitment and retention for local Londoners, especially those from underrepresented groups into training and good jobs in the social care sector. The Hub will provide a ‘go to’ source of social care workforce resources, networks, information and data for South West London. The Academy Hub will work with social care employers, training providers and job brokerage specialists to help find new jobs, apprenticeships and work experience opportunities for local Londoners and work with training providers to make sure that residents have the right training, skills, and support to get the jobs and progress their careers.
