I’m thrilled to share that SHEIN is launching a €200 Million Circularity Fund, as part of a broader commitment to invest €250 million in the EU and UK over the next five years. Our aim is that the Fund will drive R&D and innovation in #circularity for the entire #fashion industry by supporting startups and businesses in the EU and UK that are developing cutting-edge #textile recycling technologies and sustainable materials. We believe that SHEIN has a responsibility and an opportunity to accelerate innovations that can address the environmental footprint of the fashion industry. The Fund will be exploring both investments in early stage start-ups, as well as offtake agreements or other commercial partnerships with more mature start-ups and businesses that are ready to scale with us. Our successful partnerships with innovators in sustainability like Queen of Raw have shown how SHEIN’s platform can serve as a catalyst for the widespread adoption of new solutions. We look forward to engaging and partnering others to drive progress in this space. As part of this €250 million commitment to the EU and UK, we are also working on some exciting plans to support brands, designers, and artisans across the region, as well as potential investments in R&D or pilot SHEIN production facilities in Europe or the UK. I look forward to sharing more updates on this in the months ahead. #SHEIN https://lnkd.in/g89sThSV

CEO-GENERAL MANAGER- ADMINISTRATRICE INDEPENDANTE - BOARD MEMBER

#Leadership #Sustainability #CorporateGovernance #ImpactPositive #CircularEconomy #BusinessTransformation #PhilosophyInBusiness

🌍 Reflecting on the Fleet Street Quarter Climate Festival 2024 🌍 We are thrilled to share highlights from the Fleet Street Quarter Climate Festival 2024 held during London Climate Action Week. Our managing partner, Nic Gorini, had the honor of joining a distinguished panel to discuss "Conscious Wealth - Harnessing the Power of 'The 1%' in Climate Action". Panel Highlights: The discussion focused on how we can leverage the wealth and influence of the top 1% to drive significant climate action. With insights from: - Lucy Johnson: Founder and CEO of Green Salon , who set the scene with key figures on wealth inequalities and the funding gap in environmental and nature philanthropy. - Flora Harley: Head of ESG Research at Knight Frank, who shared shifts in attitudes among high-net-worth individuals towards decarbonizing lifestyles. - Joseph Robertson: Deputy Branch Manager at Handelsbanken, who discussed the banking community's outreach on sustainability. - Tim Stumpff: Impact Investor and Philanthropist from Patriotic Millionaires UK, who highlighted the need for greater taxation on the super-rich to address climate inequalities. - Nic Gorini: Managing Partner of Spin Ventures and London Ambassador of Top Tier Impact, who shared valuable insights on the current state of regenerative economy, climate tech, impact investing and the growing interest in nature capital as an asset class. Key Takeaways: - 🌱 Investment Needs: We need an estimated $5.7 trillion annually for green infrastructure and climate mitigation (WEF 2022).  - 🌱 Wealth Inequality: The wealth of the richest 200 families has grown significantly, emphasizing the need for their involvement in climate solutions. - 🌱 Philanthropy and Impact Investing: There is a growing movement among the wealthy to finance nature conservation, with significant donations pledged at COP events. - 🌱 Public, Private, and Philanthropic Partnerships: Collaborative efforts are crucial to scale and accelerate climate and nature solutions. Moving Forward: The event underscored the importance of collective efforts from both the private and public sectors. Despite the challenges, the discussions were hopeful and pointed towards actionable solutions to bridge the funding gap and promote sustainable investments. Gratitude: A heartfelt thank you to Imogen ORorke, Naomi Kerbel and SEC Newgate UK for organizing this pivotal event and to all the panelists and participants for their invaluable contributions. As we continue to drive the transition to circularity and regenerative practises in the consumer and retail industries, we invite you to join us in these efforts. #ClimateAction #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #ImpactInvesting #LondonClimateActionWeek #GreenInvestments #ConsciousWealth #SpinVentures #TopTierImpact

Key takeaways and highlights from our Investment Council at the ClimateImpact Clubhouse during London Climate Action Week! 🌎 💸 The biggest challenge is that investing in FOAK and getting it off the ground takes a lot. 💸 More educated conversation is needed with the traditional brand makers (foundations and government) to de-risk debt. 💸 The software market is extremely saturated and competitive. 💸 What’s the best use of philanthropic capital to work on climate tech? 💸 A lot of developers know what needs to be built, but don’t want to commit all their capital to one idea. 💸 There is a missing gap in mezzanine financing - need developers to contribute more cash. A big thank you to our speakers Kyle McEneaney and Natasha Fowlie for leading engaging discussions! 🌱 Thank you to our sponsors KOMPAS VC, Planet First Partners, and 2150 🥂 . . Save the date for Climate Week in NYC in Septemeber! 🚀 Stephen Murphy - Kendall Smith - Geethika Arcot
