“Nature’s foundational principle is diversity” and “the answer to monoculture is polyculture” are some phrases from the brilliant Andy Cato said as he shares his Wildfarmed story . Our CEO Marcela Flores apoke alongside Andy and 14 other to close Bright Tide‘s Regenerative Agriculture Accelerator programme which has been a highlight this month! My sincere thank you to all involved in delivering this programme! Leading global experts, mentors, and private sector organizations delivered this comprehensive training to the cohort. We now look forward to leveraging the momentum and connections from this accelerator to grow our business and build more #resilient #foodsystems. "We were blown away by the innovative spirit and potential impact of this cohort of ventures," said Harry Wright, Founder and CEO of Bright Tide. "Their pitches highlighted the impressive progress they've made over the past few months, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish next.

Can you contribute towards our research? 🌳💚🌳
Would you like to contribute to the development of ground-breaking nature-based climate projects? 🌳🌳🌳 At Tierra-Foods we are doing research and looking to interview these stakeholders: Are you, or do you know any of the following: A) A buyer of carbon credits or B) A global food corporate looking to decarbonise their supply chain? We are looking to do 45 min-1hr interviews with industry experts to better understand the opportunities and challenges for a new type of inorganic carbon credit based on nature-based climate solutions. If you would like to know more, please DM me!

Nestled in nature 🌳, rooted in science 🧬 . Collaborations with scientists, corporates and indigenous and local communities are essential to transform our food systems towards a biodiversity-rich, climate positive and resilient #FutureOfFood
Nestled in nature, rooted in science: 🌳 how can we enable nature to thrive whilst growing healthy, nutritious food? 🧬 how do we deploy a science-based approach towards a #foodsystem that is #biodiversity rich, #socially just, #resilient and delivers longer #carbon permanence? 🤝how we create #collaborations with corporates, scientific community, citizens, land stewards and nature These are the topics we discussed to move us towards the #realfutureoffood at the University of Zurich Thanks to my brilliant colleague Andreas Altinalmazis Kondylis for shaping and sharing our work on #agroforestry and Mike C. Rowley for your fantastic insights. #CDR #FutureOfFood #naturalclimatesolution

On International Day of the Forests, we thank the people who work every day on the ground to protect & restore nature. Tierra-Foods works with producers to see a world where we restore nature, rather than destroy it, in financially viable ways.

“If we tackle deforestation in the right way, the benefits will be far-reaching – greater food security, improved livelihoods for millions of small farmers, and indigenous people, more prosperous rural economies, and above all, a more stable climate.” – Paul Polman At Tierra-Foods we couldn't agree more. We want to restore the Maya rainforest in Mexico, focusing on the ramón tree, a keystone species, critical for forest regeneration and biodiversity. This tree is unique; it has the ability to permanently capture carbon, converting it into minerals in the soil through #biomineralisation. What’s more, its seeds, wild foraged for millennia by the Maya, create a nutrient-rich, delicious flour. By making the forest worth more standing than felled, and providing access to markets for non-timber forest products, we can enhance and protect carbon sequestration, generate better livelihoods for local communities, restore biodiversity, and improve food system resilience by reducing reliance on existing crops. As David Attenborough points out, “Worldwide, we have now destroyed over half of the forest that once flourished on our planet.” If you’d like to join us and reverse that trend, please get in touch. #naturebasedsolutions #regenerativeagriculture #forestconservation

Let’s consider global #foodsystems. Currently they are - at best - unsustainable, and at worst, are having devastating consequences on our #climate and #nature. Food systems produce over 1/3 of global greenhouse gas emissions (UN, 2021); account for 60% of biodiversity loss, and exacerbate social inequalities, in terms of access to inputs, labour conditions, wages. At Tierra Foods we’re on a mission to #transform food systems, so they can ☁absorb more carbon 🌿 repair our soils 🐝 protect and restock our biodiversity 🤝 in a socially just way. Come and join us on our journey to the food systems of the future!
