St. Modwen Homes is an award-winning housebuilder with developments across England and Wales. We take pride in developing local communities and delivering design-led homes, having been awarded Medium Housebuilder of the Year at the 2022 Housebuilder Awards. Our core purpose as a business is ‘Changing Places. Creating Better Futures’. We’re committed to delivering high-quality homes and long-lasting communities, as well as excellent levels of customer service. We are extremely proud to have a five-star rating from the National Housebuilders Federation for customer satisfaction which shows that 96% of our customers would recommend us. Our purpose when it comes to designing our developments is not just thinking about the homes we build, but thinking about the surrounding landscapes. We are focused on innovation and the future potential of our communities, and we use the latest technology, materials, construction methods and energy sources. As a result, we can ensure that we are doing our best for our customers as well as the environment. Our homes are thoughtfully designed with our customers at the heart of all our decisions. While built by us, every St. Modwen home is shaped by our customers. We offer a selection of different living space arrangements, layouts with dedicated workspaces, and all our homes are designed to maximise daylight with higher ceilings and larger windows.

At St. Modwen Homes we’re always looking at ways in which we can support and inspire women into the construction industry, whilst also championing the incredible women we have within the business. 👷♀️ This week, as part of the Home Builders Federation’s Women into Home Building programme, Kelly Wheeler has joined us at our Orchard Mill site in Ditton for two weeks of practical work experience. After more than a decade spent as a painter and decorator, Kelly enrolled in the programme to explore the different avenues available within the construction industry whilst also gaining valuable practical skills on site. Kelly said: “I’ve been made to feel so welcome at Ditton and the site team have all taken time to show me the set up and each of the phases of the development and I’ve learnt so much watching and helping on site. I will take plenty of lessons away from this programme, for instance how important Health and Safety is and how site management expertly juggles priorities and resourcing. This experience has only ignited my passion for construction and made me determined that site management will be my next career move.” Tom Wichall, Site Manager at Orchard Mill, said: “Kelly has been great, she has brought a breath of fresh air to the site for the time she’s been with us. Her enthusiasm for the construction industry is obvious, she’s inquisitive and keen and wants to progress – these are great skills to have as a site manager and we wish her all the best for the future.” To find out more about the HBF’s Women into Home Building programme, click here: https://lnkd.in/eVPUqsas

Last week colleagues from across our business gathered at the The National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon for our quarterly Site Managers Conference. These sessions offer an excellent opportunity for our teams from all of our different developments to come together, share ideas and collaborate. On the day there were fantastic, informative presentations from Steve Tampin Safety & Access Ltd who gave a scaffolding review, and Lee Chadwick at Clarkson Evans Ltd who delivered a PV panels overview. Finally, we were also privileged to be joined by Gary and Michelle Anderson from SECURE MIND SOLUTIONS LIMITED who held a powerful discussion on Mental Health within the construction industry. This event was a tremendous success, and we would like to thank all of our site teams for their continued hard work!

Promoting and supporting the next generation of talent within the housebuilding industry is something we’re passionate about across each of our homes developments. 👷♂️ 👷♀️ Recently, we were delighted to welcome over 60 16 and 17-year-old plumbers, bricklayers, carpenters and plasterers from Weston College to our Handley Place development near Weston-Super-Mare for a series of engaging and inspiring events. Set across several days, these events covered a number of different areas of construction including the functional role of different trades as well as sequencing and programming stages as part of a residential development. These sessions also gave the students an excellent opportunity to speak to our site teams about their experience within the housebuilding industry and St. Modwen Homes specifically. Thank you to everyone from our site team at Handley Place as well as Jessica Jakes, Reuben Bennett and Andrew Kielthy for bringing these sessions to life.

To coincide with #WorldMentalHealthDay today, we welcomed The Lighthouse Charity to our Hendrefoilan site yesterday. St. Modwen Homes colleagues and contractors alike listened to a powerful 45-minute talk around the importance of protecting your mental health and the support the charity can offer to anybody who is struggling. "Sean Barlow, Project Manager at Hendrefoilan, said: “We are very grateful to Rob, Sam and everybody at The Lighthouse Charity for visiting Hendrefoilan and sharing their deeply personal stories with us all. “Anything which encourages people, but especially men, in the industry to have conversations about their worries and issues is a hugely positive step. We have received great feedback from those who attended the talk today and everybody is now well aware of the fantastic free and confidential support that is now available to them if they are struggling.” The Lighthouse Charity is the only charity that is 100% dedicated to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of our construction workforce and their families. If you are suffering, you can call 0345 605 1956 or text HARDHAT to 85258 to speak to an expert either on the phone or via text message.

This time last week we welcomed colleagues from across St. Modwen Homes, our suppliers, contractors and wider network as we came together for the annual St. Modwen Charity Run for LandAid. 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️ With both 5k and 10k routes mapped out around Longbridge and Cofton Park, the race was completed by over 400 runners who have raised over £53,000 so far – a record total for the event! We’re delighted that the race is becoming a fixture in the Midlands property calendar and continues to grow whilst raising vital funds towards supporting LandAid’s mission to end youth homelessness. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who braved the conditions to take part, volunteer, donate or help to organise such a fantastic day. Here are a few of our favourite photos from the race: 📸

Formerly a student accommodation site, Hendrefoilan Park is a picturesque development based in the heart of the desirable village of Killay, near Swansea. Recently, a few members of our Marketing Team headed to the site for a video shoot and couldn't help but get some shots of the stunning interiors of our Gregory, Eustace and Oswald showhomes whilst at the development. Hendrefoilan Park is an excellent example of our long-term work which creates thriving communities with open spaces for all to enjoy.
