Not too busy for #team time! We all work #flexibly and #remotely which suits us all but the rare days in person together like this are gold. Yes March is a massively busy time for everyone in the STEMAZING team so it’s even more important we support each other and make time for quality fun together 🙌🏻 Jesha Soni, Michelle O'Donnell, Ann Hodgetts and Sue Dodds and I managed to beat the clock at the ‘Matter of the Hatter’ Escape Room on Friday 😆 So much fun. Of course lots of coffee and chats was had too throughout the day 🥰 We all missed Neva Brentnall who is busy at home doing the most important work at the moment- being a parent to a newborn ❤️ Big love to this group of amazing humans. We are a small but mighty team making waves in the mission of #STEM inspiration and #inclusion - supporting all the incredible STEMAZING #rolemodels, #community and #partners to all be the change we need to see 🙌🏻 No matter how busy we are at work, it’s important we make time to #connect and remember we are all humans that need support from each other in different ways to be our best in our jobs. Grateful to have that valuable time Friday to get to know these wonderful women even better and make fun memories. We’re thrilled to share that, as part of our partnership with STEMAZING, a few of our team will be taking part in their upcoming programmes. A brilliant organisation that strives to empower and inspire the next generation of women in STEM through interaction with industry professionals, while also encouraging our employees to step outside their comfort zones. ✨ Site Coordinator at ISD Solution, Kathryn Deakins, will be starting the Inspiration Academy this month. 🤝 We’ve also had keen interest this year in the Maximising Mentoring Programme, with training being rolled out through to October. This includes Jane Gwatkin on our board here at The P&M Group, alongside Matthew Fatica, our Senior Coldstore Estimator with an impressive 5+ years under his belt at ISD Solutions. Why get a mentor? How about being 5x more likely to get a promotion according to Forbes research on the benefits of mentoring. #mentoringmatters! This is important for everyone but especially #womeninstem. Last night we had a celebration of mentoring with #womeninstem at School of Engineering - UWE Bristol as part of their mentoring programme Women Like Me. Always brilliant to run workshops like this with inspiring women in the room. Hearing their empowering stories, seeing connections being made, exploring next steps in our personal growth together - events like this are so powerful. People are recognising the importance of mentoring now more than ever but don’t always know how to find a mentor or find a mentee. Schemes like this and many others that are structured to provide support make it easy for you to get involved! Huge thanks to Laura Fogg Rogers and Sarah Behenna for making this wonderful programme a reality - partnered with UWE Bristol Apprenticeships and funded by the Office for Students. Be a mentor! Who decided it was a good idea to have #BritishScienceWeek and #InternationalWomensDay in the same month?! 🤣 March is a rather busy time for everyone in STEMAZING!! Lots of events catalysing action for #IWD25 plus lots of school #STEM sessions engaging and inspiring young people - it’s non stop! Loving it though ❤️ Key thing for me is to maintain my energy - trying to keep a focus on hydration, nutrition, sleep, exercise and some downtime so I can keep going this month and bring the positive energy that is needed to drive the change we want to see. Above all else - making sure I enjoy every event so it fills my bucket along the way. Good luck to everyone else who is doing ALL the things combining these two big events in the calendar this month - the world needs you as visible #rolemodels!
